FT NOR 0-5 ARS A very comfortable win, as it should be. We're getting much, much better at taking care of business against teams that are below us. Including at ther grounds! Laca's PK notwithstanding, it's great to see continued goal production from people who aren't labeled striker. And our GD is finally out of the ICU... we're up to a lofty +9 GD. And comfortably in 4th place, as long as Spuds don't capitalize on their games in hand. ONWARD with @mebeSajid.
ESR needs to stop scoring goals every time he comes off the bench if he ever wants to be in the starting XI again.
Like the win. glad arteta has put his ego aside for a while and is letting most of his players play with instincts instead of his rigid futbol. Norwich are horrible so 5-0 Abt right. Tues vs wolves will be good test for Arteta.
Very nice. Pleased that it seems a comprehensive win. The kind of display against a weaker side that seemed to have been missing the past few years. Bonus in that WHU lost today, as well, which helps in the fight for top 4/6.
They're unbeaten in the league since Conte took over. I'd be surprised if they don't capitalize on their games in hand, unfortunately.
I think a partial factor in our recent good run is that Covid has hit our club less hard than many of the other teams in the EPL. We still have our manager and our key productive players. And this is echoed by today's report that just AMN, Cedric & Lokonga are out with Covid. All fringey players. Although a month or two ago, I might not have said that about Sambi.
the highlights on NBC did not show the 1st yellow but the commentators complained fairly strongly when skipp did not get a yellow for what he felt was a comparable challenge. the 2nd yellow was sheer stupidity combined with emerson royal selling it WWE-style. he did that for robertson's red as well.
as much as i like lacazette, i hate that bullshit start-and-stop penalty. that shit needs to be regulated out.
man, that shit is why i hoped nuno would have lasted just a few games longer. conte came in with enough games to recover their season and still has a january window to make some adds.
I think I understand what you're saying, but how would that be regulated? Starts, stops, changes in direction and speed are obviously perfectly legit ways for a striker to make a defender stab and miss, so they can go by them. When those same starts and stutters lead to a clattering should it not be a foul? Not going for snark, genuinely curious how refs should/can differentiate between those types of moves used to beat a defender versus purely looking for the contact in the box. Edit: [Head smack emoji]. My bad. You were talking about the way Laca took the pen. Sorry---been a tough few days and obviously my reading comprehension has suffered.
Not me. As it stands now, and to the degree that run-ups aren't all the same, continuous movement, I'm fine with it. I suppose it could get really crazy where a shooter runs figure-8's before taking the kick, and then I might not feel the same. But a Jorghino-style PK doesn't get under my skin.
