Re: Tippeligaen 2010 The teams have gathered for the physical testing and will leave to La manga in 2-4 weeks.
Great work guys. Thanks for getting the ball rolling. Any news on player movement. As the season ended, it didn't appear any of the clubs had a lot of money to spend, but I have noted some transfers. Also, with the Tippe playing right up to the start of the WC in South Africa. Does this mean some clubs will be short players should they be called up to their countries national team? That may only be a few, but it could make an impact on some games.
There have been some player movment. Viking has bought a striker: Patrik Ingelsten from Heerenveen. They are looking for a new keeper and a center. Hønefoss has bought 3 players so far, but moreare comming: Paul Obiefule, Rune Bolseth and Angan Rosenborg have submitted a bid on Moldskred from Tromsø. That`s it for now, but more will come. I gues we will see that the biggest clubs has some money in the back pocket But there will defenetly be some more transfere before 14 march. When it comes to the WC, some players will travel too play for there nationale team. But in june there is a "break" in the tippeligaen from june 6 too 4 july. So hopefully the training games before will not have an to big an influence on the games here.
vifvaf, thanks for the information. Rumors are that Start have money problems and may have to off load Clay Goodson. Is that still a possibility? That would be ashame. Start plays better with him on the backline. Also, did Tore Regiunsen (sp), defender with Tromso (and the Norwegian national team), complete his transfer to Shalke? I read he was ready to sign with the German team but never saw a comfirmation of the deal.
Yes, Reginiussen is now with Schalke 04. http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germ...-schalke-04-sign-tore-reginiussen-from-tromso http://www.schalke04.com/news/singl...eginiussen-joins-royal-blues-from-tromso.html
I think the Goodson move is mutual....he wants to go and Start would like to make some money before his contract is up in 2010. They apparently have set a high price on him at around $2 million US dollars (according to local newspapers) so he may not leave unless they drop it a bit. The Tore Regiunsen move to Shalke seems like a big step up in class for him but I guess we will see soon enough. I beleive he was out of contract so it was less expensive move for Shalke to make.

Going to try to follow the league more this year. Still no Lillehammer (or even Oppland!) sides so I guess I will support either Molde or Alesund since some of my family were from More og Romsdal (most were from Oppland though).
Please feel free to contribute to this thread as much as you like. I'm hoping to get all of the Scandinavian leagues pinned for easier access for Scandinavian fans to post news, rumors, analysis for the 2010 season. Love to see more activity in this thread. I know there are plenty of Scandinavian league fans here in the states, and of course we have several members who post here who live in Scandinavia. Come one, come all!

I think Lillehammer were relegated from division 2(level 3) this year? So, Hamkam(relegated from div 1) is the closest?
Rumors has it that "an american goalkeeper" is trying out for Stabæk this week. Who could be? I know that Iven Austbø -the second string- is looking for opportunities elsewere. And therefore, the rumor should be taken a bit more seriously than otherwise. Could it be that Stabæk is becoming just as fond of yanks as of icelanders and sweedes?
Staebeck may be looking at Tyrel Lacey, the American keeper who played for Lyn in the fall season last year. He was injured in October (I think), but should be ready to go. I doubt Lyn kept him under contract for the Adecco.
Yeah FF Lillehammer aren't very good so that doesn't surprise me. It'd be nice if they'd turn it around though. :/
Valerenga GK Troy Perkins is rumored to be looking into a return back to MLS after two years in Norway. Perkins is currently participating in the USNT training camp preparing for a few international friendlies. Perkins is considered to be good choice as the USNT #3 keeper behind Tim Howard (Everton) and Brad Guzan (Aston Villa) for this year's World Cup. Perkins' old club, DC United could use Troy's services; however, the club may not be able to negotiate for the keeper unless it can move it's way up the league allocation process. As a reminder, MLS owns all players contracts. Link: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2010/01/adu-johnson_perkins_rapids.html
Øyvind Boltof is in Hønefoss to try out. (pre Vålerenga player) Moldskred Signed for Rosenborg for 3 years. (pre Tromsø player) Emil Johansson Signes for Molde for 4 years( pre Hammarby player) Kongsvinger does not have money to reinforce the team. Stabæk is playing Man United in a training match in the end of jan. Frech Le Mans put in a bid for a loan on Huseklepp (Brann)but it was declined.
Yeah, it's official. Troy sent a letter to the club's fans telling them he'll always have a place in his heart for VIF and grew as a player while in Norway. http://www.vif-fotball.no/article2800791.ece Being a USNT pool player, Perkins will be subject to MLS allocation. Philadelphia Union currently holds the top allocation as the expansion club; however, the Union picked up a solid young keeper from Real Salt Lake (Chris Seitz) who made several appearances for the US U23 team and may not use this allocation on Perkins in order to protect their first place spot on the allocation list's next opportunity (most likely a field player). The club with the most interest in Troy's services may be his old team DC United. One issue United has is that it's not second in line for allocation, so it would have to possibly trade up to get him. Let me clear, I don't know the pecking order for the MLS allocation, only that Philadelphia is definitely first as the expansion team and that DC United used their allocation last year on Danny Szetela (young midfielder) so it's safe to say DC is not second.
Well . . . that was QUICK! http://blog.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/ DCU giving up a decent midfielder, their first round draft pick in tomorrow's College SuperDraft and money . . . That's about as much as I've seen a team give up for a keeper in MLS.
On the topic US GOALKEEPERS IN NORWAY, who is this Steve from Salt Lake that Mix (Diskerud) is mentioning may sign up for Stabaek?
