Of course, everybody talks about Bestie dropping SIX GOALS on Northampton. I'm looking for something similar to the 8-2 final score that day.

    P. Neville is suspended, and I can see Ruud and Keane getting a rest. Klebs is still on holiday I think and Saha is cuptied.

Hell, I'd like to try a stab at a lineup but I can't remember/keep track of who's injured along with vacations.

    Is Gary Neville available?
    How's Giggs?
    Is Fortune still here?

I'd imagine that Carroll, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Bellion, and Wes could all start. If Keane is rested, then Butt plays. Don't be too surprised to see Keane as center defender with but the d-mid though; this is the perfect match to try something like that. I wouldn't mind seeing what Ronaldo can do as a striker in this match; it might be fun to pair him with Forlan up top.

Any word on any of the Reserve players being called up for this game?

    I'll throw this out there:

    Carroll
    GN Brown O'Shea Silvestre
    Fletcher Butt Scholes Fortune
    Forlan Ronaldo

I think this would be a fun squad to watch. I suppose Bellion could start up top, move Ronaldo to left mid, and that would work well also. I haven't seen any real comments/previews on this match o I have no idea what SAF wants to do.

I would like to see Eagles get a run out.

    Bellion and Forlan up top.
I hear Klebs is back so he's in the midfield.
Ronaldo on the right, Butt in the middle with Klebs and Eagles on the left - or vice/versa with Ronaldo.
I'd like to see a back line with Brown and O'Shea in the middle. G. Nev on the right and a "kid" on the left - Pugh? Lynch? Tierny? Steele? McShane? Spector? :)

I'd put Scholes, Keane, and Ruud on the bench....

Or start with them, get a comfy lead and THEN bring on the kids....

I'd like to see this lineup too. If Nicky isn't around any more on Sunday, he may try to use Fletch in the center of midfield, move Ronaldo to the wing and bring Bellion up front with Diego. Although, I'd like to see how Ronaldo does up front or in the hole behind Diego.

I'd be surprised if SAF doesn't bring up a couple of the younger players. This is the type of game that would be perfect for them, hopefully. I'd definitely like to see Chris Eagles get a shot.

Does anyone know if this game is on pay per view?

Looks like you already answered this before I could post. Thanks. Is this game worth paying $15.95 for?

Yes. Cause even if this game is crap, you are showing support for them to carry more United matches in the future, which hopefully would not be crap. I'm looking forward to seeing some younger players I haven't seen yet or for awhile, personally.

Perhaps, Sir Alex wants to play more vets and get a good scoreline to kickstart our offence.... you never know.

Northampton think they have a chance, depending on what kind of squad Fergie selects for the match.

Oh, and I would KILL for MUTV here. :D

I'd give just about anything for MUTV. It seems like you should be able to get pay $10 a month and they could bounce the satellite to your house. What do you do?

Every game that I have gotten off pay per view this year, we end up playing poorly so I'm afraid to jink them. However, I'm sure I'll get the game anyways.

As far as kickstarting our offense, that is a great idea considering we haven't scored in almost 4 hours of play. If Ruud could get 6 like Best, I'd be very happy.

Do you really think that Northampton will think they have a chance even if we put our B team out there?

It's probably mostly just "paper talk", but they are professionals and I applaud them for at the very least giving their supporters something to get buzzing over.

It would be more shocking than the Wolves result even if we are held to a draw, let alone lose.

Heck, I'd think it would be a shocking if Man U's womens team couldn't beat them.

I disagree with Motter here - if the MU:ARSe match costs $15.95, why is this game against a crap squad with B-siders worth the same? I think it isn't - and I won't order it just because I think their pricing model is wrong. If ManUtd vs. Arse was a $75 game, then I could see how this FA Cup game was worth $16...

Hell, I bet tickets to see the match at NH's site were about $16! Okay, probably not after visiting their website (almost better than ManUtd.com - though that isn't say much!).

I'm glad there weren't more people like you 6 years ago.

Hell, 16 bucks is a tank of gas or a twelve pack of beer and a pack of smokes.

Wha??? If there were more people like me 6 years ago:

    * MU TV would be in every home today
    * Bill Clinton woulda been impeached
    * The collective IQ of the world would have gone up, up, up ;)
    * Prices for games would be $9.95
    * The would sell packages to watch your favorite team instead of selling a single game at a time
    * Real Madrid would be on TV every week just so we could see the galacticos play
    * Capital punishment would be the national pastime
    * etc, etc, etc

    :D

The regular EPL games (i.e. MU:Arse) are $25.

Not for DirecTV customers - $15.95. They used to be $24.95.

I will probably buy the game this weekend, because I haven't bought one this month and next week's game is a freebie.

I haven't decided what to do with this one. It's guaranteed that I'm watching somewhere, somehow for the reasons Motterman indicated -- seeing some younger players and the possibility, after a couple bad outings, that we'll really see some goals this weekend.

On the one hand, it bothers me to pay yet another $15 to DirecTv since I've already got the entire EPL PPV package at upwards of $250 for the season; still, if I go to Summers, I'm in for $15 anyway and at least another $10 (or much worse if I start drinking) for food, etc.

It may just come down to what else I've got going that day -- if I'm busy I'll do the DirecTV and Tivo thing to watch later.

Then DirecTV is a better deal than DISH Network. :(

Now this I can understand. However, this IS the FA Cup we are talking about.

There's something special about this competition.... Drama?.... Excitement?..... No...... Romance.... yeah, that's the word for it. :D

Cooper should at least make the trip. He has been scoring at a pretty decent rate for the reserves just about all season and this is as good as a time as any to get him first team action.

    scored again tonight..

ill do whatever in my power when i go back to montreal to watch all manyoo games whatever the price...im also going to pickit to get mutv ffs this is 2004 and all that.. i know a few people in montreal that want it also...how many in the US would want it you think..if they got their sh1t together they can have the program screened at the right time too. Cus the only prob i can see is the live call in shows that are on at 7pm UK time, in the US it would be what 2 or 3pm?

you lot should pay for it..like motterman says the more demand the better the service will get.

Id like to see Diego get a game i mean he hardly did anything wrong then hes back on the bench should of started against wolves two up him and Rudd. Craft and Cunning what more u want

This is definitely a 4-4-2 game for me, plus I think RVN deserves a rest as he looked understandably tired against Wolves. So I would drop him to the bench and play Forlan.

As you may have gathered, I am not a big fan of Forlan - as you say he doesn't do anything wrong (good control, link up play etc.) he fails to take responsibility as a striker and get involved where it hurts. He will need a support striker too (Bellion would be my pick), which is another reason to go 4-4-2 if RVN is rested.

    Some more Forlan anagrams ...

Dog if a loner. (very apt, not 4-5-1 material)
God! air felon. (watch out row Z!)
Flog arid one. (message to Fergie)
    No goal? Fired!
    No goal if red.
    Foiled groan.
    A red fooling.
    Arid felon go.
Life or gonad. (what his sentence should be if he can't score against Northampton!)
    :)
