One of the worst best movies seems to have been released on DVD. The movie North Shore is a classic. So when I saw it in the store I had to break down and purchase the flick. As was explained in the commentary section, many terms popularized today came out of this movie.
Yeah, it's so totally unrealistic that it's great. He surfs Pipeline, Waimea, and Sunset Beach during his time there. When he gets drilled, they don't show the hold downs which is a disappointment because that's the hardest part. I'm sorry but chumps like this die there or surfing any big wave area. I guess this is what makes the movie so much fun, along with the language too.
They should probably pull this dvd, you know a lot of mainland boys go to Oahu and actually think it's easy to surf, and end up beat up or drowned.When i lived on Maui, i used to love to watch the coast guard pull these idiots out the water with helicopers, and they're only like 100yard out, too funny! Kinda on Oahu, but on all the islands, pigeon is the perferred language.
Sorry ruudboy, I fail to see why they should pull the DVD. Let the dumbasses kill themselves. If they have no respect for what happens out there they deserve what they get. Invite them to Mavericks for some fun then.

Yup. I was on the North Shore back in November 2001 and the waves, albeit not gigantic, were pretty rough.
