Hey I'm new to this forum. Anybody know about any Earthquake booster clubs in the Solano-Napa County area? I caught the May 31 Fire match with my son and all I got to show for it was a sunburn. The ref sucked, the Quakes lost it after two no calls, but we had a good time anyway.

No such group exsists, unless you want to start one. There is Club Quake, based in SJ, which has members from all over the Bay Area. Inside the stadium there are the Ultras, and the Casbah.

You know, those nutjobs everybody hates, standing up, singing, distrubing all the fans around them. Somebody should do something about those guys.

    :D

Fairquake, you should organize a caravan for the games. Get there early and tailgate with ClubQuake and/or the Ultras.

(The food is better at ClubQuake.)

Hey, Fairquake...welcome to the boards! I, too, am from the North Bay. I live in Novato. As mentioned, there is no formal booster club exclusively comprised of North Bay residents but Bajaro's advice is on the money. Join Club Quake.

I first heard of Club Quake in 2001 while attending one of the games. The next year I bought season tickets. My daughter (8 years old) and I went to the Opening Day game in 2002 and, on a whim, asked how much it was to sign up? At that time, it was $15 for adults, 5 for kids. We joined and I can't tell you how many times I have since told people it was the best $20 I ever spent!!

We have tailgates every game right outside the East gate. The people are all very friendly, family-oriented, knowledgable soccer fans. They organize road trips to LA for the away games vs. the Galaxatives. Quakes players drop by each tailgate to visit, sign autographs and take pictures. Johnny Moore, the GM himself, regularly stops by and is very generous with his time in talking with us. Last week, we were graced by a surprise day with Joe Cannon, who was in town after the US/Wales game on Memorial Day. He decided to hang out with the people that had sat behind his goal and cheered him for so many years--the Casbah, many of whom are CQ members. Club members get discounts on team merchandise, tickets and authentic jerseys. Also, because CQ is the booster club officially recognized by the team, they work closely with the team on promotion and ticket sales and events. We also have a wonderful pipeline on information about the club...better than you'll find anywhere else.

The choice, of course, is yours but for $20, you won't believe what a return you'll get on the investment!! It's so great (especially for families) that my wife joined and has become a huge soccer fan--and she didn't even like the game 2 years ago. If you are really into the Quakes, check it out. The website for info and membership registration is...

    http://www.clubquake.org

Hope to see you out there on June 21st vs. Columbus!!

C'mon now. With Bill Reeves on the grill, Elaine Bernal on the 5-layer bean/guac dip, and Guy Gayle with his beer-drenched babyback ribs, how can you beat ClubQuake?

(Not to mention Bajoro's Costco Aidell's sausage...)

I am in Petaluma and it would be nice to hook up with others in Sonoma or Marin County to car pool. If enough interest, a bus might be recruited to take a group down. (Golden Gate Transit does trips to 49ers games.)
