Sweden could prevent Germany from scoring and it could go into penalty. Not sure the result after that but I think Germany might have a hard time with Sweden if they turn back into Sweden.

Well, you know. There are just so many people excited to see 152nd ranked Tiger Woods that they aren't concerned about GERvSWE match.

At the Algarve Germany committed numbers forward and Sweden exposed their defense many times on the counter. Will be interested to see the tactics here. Neid has Bartusiak and Krahn back there. Could be shaky times. Maroszan is not starting. She hasn't played well so far, to her standards, but depending on how things go we could see her in the 2nd half.

Pia should be ashamed by the wwc performance by Sweden.

If only the US had a player like Goessling. Has completely controlled this game.

Is German so much better than the us against Sweden because the players are so much better or the coaching?

Couple of really good players, but I think it's mostly coaching.

Pia waites until 80th minute of a knockout game, losing 3-0, to finally play attacking soccer.

Regarding the US comparison, it is exactly coaching and preparation that makez US look so poor. Pia bunkered the whole game against us, figuring our players would get impatient and lauch right into the teeth of the defense. She was right and Ellis never did a thing about it.

germany will handle us if the midfield keeps playing like shit. ali krieger would have to bring her A game as well in that potential matchup. the rapinoe-morgan-wambach combo would have to net 2 or 3.

before we worry too much about that, lets just curb stomp colombia.

Disappointing. I was hoping Swedes would eliminate Germany on our behalf. Mittag is scary.

Seems I'm the only one who thinks Germany will lose to France.

I think on any given day, France can give anybody a run for their money. The problem is they have yet to show up to when it matters, i.e. the semi-finals they are almost always eliminated from either by the US or another team.

However this is the quarter finals and they've won their quarters in the past. Germany lost their quarters to Japan 4 years ago. So anything is possible.

AS far as Germanys dominance... Sweden we can all admit were not ready for the World Cup. The only reason why we tied with them was we had an off game and they bunkered whereas the game was more open against Germany which unfortunately favored Germany more than Sweden.

I would prefer Cameroon to win simply because USWNT plays more exciting matches against african teams and tends to play flat against technical asian teams like China and South Africa.
