I was thinking the other day, what with all the fuss over obscene amounts of cash being wasted on agent payments in the league, do non-league sides also find themselves in similar (only scaled down) predicaments? I'd guess some ex-league players would probably have agents and there would be conference players with them, but what about the unibond/ryman league etc. - the money seems small enough that agents might not bother? How far down does the agent infestation go?
Good question! As well as 'old pros' on a downward spiral there are probably a number of 16+ year olds (maybe ex-Academy) with agents trying to help them progress up the ladder, and then there's the foreign players plying their trade at lower levels no doubt facilitated by the UK agent's international links. As an aside, do any of the England women's team have agents?
According to FIFA's website http://www.fifa.com/en/regulations/agents/players.html there are 298 agents in England! Here's another one I found that's got a mixture of players of all ages across the world playing in some pretty diverse places and standards: http://www.playersglobe.com/players.php
