I'm going to Portugal next April can anyone tell me some good places to visit or any Websites to check out. greatly aprreciated. Also. Just wondering , How valuable will my Spanish be? How close is it Portuguese to Spanish, in terms of written words not sounds? And can I Hope that in the tourists sections will they Speak English/Spanish?
If you are in to clubs and are going to Lisbon check out the Docas and the Expo area. Those go on all night until 6 or 7 in the morning. The expo center has a lot to do. They have a strip with over 60 bars, clubs, cafe's and returaunts. It's a great time. Also if you are in the Lisbon area go to Sintra it's awesome. They have a Castle and a Palace their that are amazing. Good cafe's too. On the rail system there is cost me $1.20 each way and took about 45 minutes to get there. It's definitly worth a day of your time. Sorry don't know of anything in the other cities.
See the attached site. Down the page on the lefthand side are a bunch of travel-related links. http://www.portugalpost.com/
if you are a native or near-native spanish speaker, you shouldn't have much problem communicating and understanding the jist of what's going on. if you are less than that, it will be very confusing. have fun.
Bump I am leaving on april 16th to april 25th, any chance of seeing a match in lisbon during this time? don't care what clubs.
More importantly what do the chicks on average look like in Portugal? I might be there next December/January 2004.
Intersting thats about the time (spring break) I'm going back to portugal to visit... I'll prob catch a benfica game... 04/19/2003 Benfica - Varzim...At the LUZ hope that helps
Benfica-Varzim, you can get tickets at the box office at the stadium. There shouldbn't be a problem buying them on game day, since Varzim isn't one of the bigger clubs and Benfica's stadium is enormous.
Bump I went to Portugal. I loved it . First to the Algarve, where is stayed in Carvoiero(spelling? on all place names is suspect), From there I visited Sagres, Lagos and Albufiera. Then Sesimbra, Seutabal. Also, Lisboa(Of course), Obidos and Alcobaca. Portugal ia beautiful country (Forts and Cathedrals) and the its people were wonderfully nice and very helpful I
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm visiting Madeira this summer, and I can't wait! The vacation can't come soon enough...
