I like this idea, but as I look at the schedule, I'm not sure where the 7 could come from: 9/4 @ OCSC - Based on recent form, L 0 pts 9/11 @ Miami - They are so inconsistent. Let's call this a W 3 pts 9/14 vs NYRB - "Should be" a W 3 pts 9/18 vs NE - 3rd game in 8 days, 2nd on the road vs top team? L 0 pts 9/25 vs MTL - This will be tough. I don't recall us historically doing well there, but I'm feeling optimistic, so let's go with a draw D 1 pt (7 of 21 pts so far) 9/29 vs Cruz Azul - non points game, but do we believe Caleb will rest the starters? 10/3 @ Phi - 3rd game in 8 days, on the road; Draw is optimistic. D 1 pt 10/16 Vs MIA - Calling this a win W 3 pts (11 of 21 pts) 10/20 @ Nash - Not sure this is even a draw. L 0 pts 10/23 vs NYRB - Gonna be a W here. W 3 pts (14 of 21 pts; Need 2 W and 1 D) 10/27 @ OCSC - Of the three, this is the game where Draw is optimistic D 1 pt 10/30 @ DC - 3rd game in 7 days vs other team fighting for playoff spot: MUST WIN 3 pts 11/7 vs CHI- - Decision Day vs team tied with us on pts. MUST WIN Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic at the front end which is forcing me to chase results on the back side, but I just don't see it unless we see a MAJOR change in form. Winning erases the memory of a lot of sins. Last year, I called us the luckiest team on the planet during the irregular season and MLS Cup Final. We escaped so many matches with 1 or 3 points by inches. Not only are we not experiencing those same breaks this year (which is what should be expected), we're also not getting the additional productivity from guys whose last name doesn't start with Z. Up until the FCC game, Mensah was our 3rd leading scorer with exactly TWO tally's to his name. That's not a formula for success.
Ben Olsen is failing up. Washington Spirit announces that D.C. United legend Ben Olsen has been named Club President. #nwsl— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) September 2, 2021
That trend (winning 50% of games) is still not good enough to make the playoffs if we all agree that it will take 7 wins from the last 12 matches. But I applaud your positivity.
This is great. #SportingKC #SKCvMIN pic.twitter.com/ra0eMW2Hro— Chad Smith (@PlayFor90) September 16, 2021 That's some quality trolling, right there.

And of course Kia is the lead owner. When Mook was in HS his indoor team played up at Springside in Open Men. Kia had a team at the time, a bunch of long-retired grizzled old pros who, like him, had been around the barn more than a few times, particularly indoors. They ran those kids ragged and barely moved. One touch, one touch, one touch, goal, scored on a shot that would have taken your head off if it got in the way. I don't know if anyone ever broke a sweat. Meanwhile the kids are running their legs off, gasping for air. Always wished I had a video.
Happened to me once--we were in the league that used to play at the Deaf School (NISA, as I recall) and were playing Germania. Well, their first team had a tournament, so they sent the O-30 team. Our guys thought we'd have an easy time of it, but we got killed in the same way. The ball did all the work.... On the flip side, there was the time my team played one indoors coached by Steve Serr of Westerville HS players. I think it was 5-0 before they realized they had a problem. But our top striker had played at Northwestern....
Steve Serr: in the dictionary under "asshole". It's guys like him and Keith Laughlin that make youth soccer almost unbearable.
Nashville vs Sh*tcago played on this garbage yesterday. An NFL game, Notre Dame- Wisconsin and an MLS match all in the previous six days left Soldier field not just aesthetically disgraceful but reportedly virtually unplayable. Like NYCiteh, they get a pass on conditions which wouldn't be allowed in most other places. Don Garber thought HCS was a shithole? It's freakin Anfield compared to this shit. PS: The league is claiming that attendance was over 15k. Sure it was, Don. PPS: Nashville's keeper showed up at the post game presser covered in green paint.
The local paper dug into this but I’m sure they it will just be shrugged off and the fiyurrrrrr will be playing here indefinitely https://chicago.suntimes.com/platfo...fires-0-0-tie-with-nashville-sc-soldier-field
Stam out. We hardly knew ye. In three seasons in MLS, FC Cincinnati have had:-Three full-time head coaches-Two interim head coaches-Two GMs (and currently open)-Two wooden spoon finishes (+ currently 2nd bottom in MLS)Tough.— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) September 27, 2021 Woof.
It's going to be a complete mess until they get Berding out of there. And I don't wish that suffering upon Brian.
They have to hire a GM before they let him hire a coach. Tyrone Marshall coaches their U-19 team and will be interim MLS coach. It's actually not a bad job to have as long as the GM is competent. They have nice facilities, good fan support, and a free spending owner.
They talked about their lovely grass field before they were awarded the new franchise. Then, months later, once the franchise had been awarded, announced the switch the turf. Nice bait and switch.
They put it in this year. For turf, it looks decent. Their owner though is the richest owner in the NFL until Bezos buys the broncos. Probably could have afforded grass upkeep. He also wants a new stadium.
