Each of the last three days, I've had to hurriedly turn down my computer's sound as a banner ad's audio started up. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who reads BS at work a lot, and I don't really need my co-workers wondering what I'm up to. Or is this just another way to encourage people to pony up the bucks?
No, it's not. We currently accept these types of ads from sponsors, but recognize the complaints and are discussing it with the sales team in LA.

I do a lot of my BS'ing at work, and we make very heavy use of internal web pages that rely on pop up technology, so I can't use blockers. On the other hand, I haven't seen any pop ups or banner ads with sound in the last couple of weeks, so I'm .
There was the one for the BigSoccer store, but no, I haven't seen that in a while. I was mostly thinking of the noisy banner ads, which I am very grateful not to have heard recently. Thanks.
You could turn off/down the volume while you're surfing for personal pleasure. I know it's easy to forget, but it only takes half a second to do.
What about the one that pops up on EVERY page about Bellsouth DSL. I don't mind banners and whatnot, but this one pops up every time I go to a new page and thus is not blocked by pop-upblockers because its emmbed in the page or something. Just wondering if these will be here forever I guess.. thanks
I was getting the same thing last night. Annoying as hell.. I didnt know if this was a BS thing or straight from the internet, unafiliated with BS..
it's a bellsouth ad running flash thats putting 2 banners that scroll w/ the page unless you close them out.

this banner is driving me nuts. I get it at home and not at work, but I have popup software on both computers...needs an update I guess.. In the meantime, I cant think of a better way for Bellsouth to piss off potential customers
i'ts not technically a popup since it's flash and not java script so it's not a pop up blocker blocking it. maybe your work comp doesn't have flash installed? either way it's still annoying as ********
Hmm.. that little window seems to have stopped. Maybe it was some nasty spyware that the !!internet providers!! are putting on our computers. I scanned with Ad-Aware and it 'appears' to be gone, so.. thanks
