Given the record of soccer players in Spain and paying taxes I’m sure there’s plenty of people who’d be willing to commit Favre levels of welfare fraud.

If they also send unsolicited pictures of their junk to reporters, we're living in the matrix

Playing as a RCB in back three when Villarreal in possession. Good passing out of the back so far. Off topic but Villarreal have to be one off the best underdog teams in Europe. I miss that Riquelme, Forlan, Senna team back in the day. Still play an exciting style.

I notice that their back 3 dont get into the attack or support the attack much. Clearly, Freeman can do more but it looks like the team doesnt use the back 3 much to move up with the attack.

Tajon Buchannan hits a laser from about 20 yds for 4-1. Champions League secured, it appears.

Not good for Villareal but good for Freeman's PT numbers

Great for Villarreal imo. They're locked into a Champions League place already and have basically no shot at eclipsing Real for 2nd. They can rotate, give young players some first-team experience, and gently coast to the end of the season.

Freeman got a 7.4 from fotmob vs Levante. Best in the defensive half of the team (GK and back four). Tied for the median score on the team (no surprise that the attacking half of the field got higher scores, given the 5-1 scoreline).

Freeman starts! Villarreal (3rd, CL next season assured) hosting Sevilla (13th, but remarkably close to relegation).

Freeman went the full distance in a 2-3 defeat, Villarreal having led 2-0 early. It was 2-2 by HT, and the team that wanted/needed a result won.

    Two matches remain:

Sun May 17 @ Rayo Vallecano

Sun May 24 v Atlético Madrid

This could be the manager sending a message to the incumbent like *the kid did really well, now what can *you* do?" and then they trade off games until one of them wins to role convincingly? That's what I used to do on football manager at least :D

People on reddit say he struggled a lot in his most recent start. I was hoping to see some other assessments on here, but it doesn't look like anyone commented on it.

I watched. That is not true at all! He was good on defense, he didn't get much into the attack. One defender got subbed out, not Alex.

Even if he doesn’t play in their game, he’s gotten enough minutes as of late to transition to the WC squad assuming he’s not a surprise omission.
