    How can this be??

I can put up with the 2 times plus increase in the price of tickets for the new stadium, $7 beers, and $5 hot dogs, but no tailgating??

I mean, tailgating is as American as apple pie. I love getting to the game early to kick back with friends or family, listen to some good salsa tunes, and knock down a few brews! If this is true, I will go to the first game and then not return until tailgating is allowed, period.

LA Galaxy staff, I hope you are listening!! Once word gets around, you will lose fans, not convert them. Unbelievable!!

Bitching and complaining. Now we're just going to wait for the first couple of games to see if its enforceable. One Galaxy staffer told someone on our boards that if tailgating is so important than maybe we should spend our money elsewhere because its not that important. Or something like that. We're considering a petition and will post the link if we feel its necessary.

Wasn't Garber supposed to be working on this issue to help the fans who love the sport? What happened with that?

If they wanted to ban tailgating, why didn't they build a flippin' cathedral instead of a soccer stadium? The bleepin' Puritans win out again!

Unfortunately it's on Cal State University land and they have a rule (law?) that prohibits alcohol on their property except for on-sale at events like games or banquets. I understand that Spartan Stadium belongs to San Jose State and I've seen tailgating there so perhaps in time Cal State Dominguez Hills might loosen up a bit.

I'm in the minority, but this no-tailgating rule doesn't bother me. I'll just find an alternative like going to the nearby eatery before the game. Yeah, it sucks that I can't kick it with buddies before the game, but I'll live.

I don't see how they can enforce this stupid rule. What are they going to do? Walk around to each of the thousands of cars to see if anybody is drinking.

It will be especially hard for Galaxy fans to adjust to no tailgating since the Rose Bowl is perhaps the best tailgating stadium in the country with the surroundings, soccer fields, trees and scenery.

    Focus, damn it!

Shut your pieholes!- listen to yourselves! Boo hoo - the HDTC isn't the Rose Bowl! Boo hoo! I'll miss drinking beer in the parking lot!

Sober up! These are the sacrifices we make for a stadium that kicks the **** out of anything else in the entire country.

On a lighter note, did anyone else see that large billboard on the 405 South flashing up the HDTC and the Galaxy?

Two More Weeks! Got your tickets?

I'm certainly not boo hooing. I've been waiting for this stadium since the times before the internet.
Good news about the sign! That will help spread the word since local TV isn't doing it.

I've been waiting since the Aztecs left El Camino College. I've not only got my tickets, but after the shorter drive up from San Diego, you can bet your ass that there will be tailgating in the lot. Just try to stop us! I know the Cal State University system has their alcoholic beverages rules, and the Galaxy have to spout the party line, but there will a BBQ wherever I park, count on it!

    Kudos to the billboard.

You think some G's fans are upset about tailgating? Wait until Dave Matthews Band fans are prohibited from tailgating.

If the university allowed tailgating, the NIMBY's probably would be whining to Carson City Council in a second.

Well, if you guys don't get caught, maybe others will catch on and join in and the numbers will be too large to enforce. But if you do get caught, well, enjoy the game from the outside.
