After the boys in the historical Dark Blue jersey sealed qualification for World Cup North America 2026, I wanted to kick around the question of what making the World Cup means to the Scots? Sometimes the wait is worth it right? I mean, is there any booze still lingering around Alba a day later?!? Also, the small matter of Scott McTominay's insane bicycle kick. Is this perhaps the greatest goal in Scotland's history? It is not a goal at a World Cup, check, however this wonder strike got the night going! WE'LL BE COMING! WE'LL BE COMING!!!
Scotland has a chance for the unique accomplishment of being the first team to clinch a spot in the Round of 32 in the first World Cup with that round. To clinch first, Scotland needs Mexico vs. South Korea and USA vs. Australia to be draws, and then Scotland needs to beat Morocco. Morocco is 7th in the FIFA Rankings, and they are the top team outside UEFA and CONMEBOL, so it will be hard for Scotland to win.
Good luck against Brazil will be pulling for you after hanging out with the Tartan Army in Cologne during the Euros. Great group of lads and hope you keep going.
