IF Arbs is smart he drops Mbappe. Yes, he blames himself for all loses. Great for player respect and confidence.

 

Considering the team hated Xabi. And seeing how the team “loves” playing for Arbs + the has the advantage of having a healthier backline, I see a gulf in quality.

 

Xabi was getting results despite the players disliking him. It's the opposite for Arbeloa. Florentino has promoted Castilla managers twice since Zizou, with Solari and Arbeloa. He needs to get the memo that he got lucky with Zizou.

Anyways, this team no longer has an elite manager, nor elite players (Exception is Courtois, Mbappe is questionable). Florentino's 2nd reign has run it's course. He needs to accept that he has made set his legacy in stone and bow out with some dignity while the fans still revere him.

The team is doing worse under Arbeloa than under Xabi and that is a fact. While I may not be Xabi’s biggest fan, I do agree that he should have been given the chance to finish the season.

Hiring a manager from the third division was idiotic and this was the only possible outcome.
