Agreed. Those two games are huge as well as the game against Barca. Let's hope we have all our players back after the international break with no new casualties.

If you can count up to 11 you should beat Albacete with Real Madrid's roster.

I don't care who's coaching, there's no excuse for that one. Players and coaches.

As Carlo and Zidane showed previously. That debacle is on the senior players who played and the previous management who left us at the gutter.

    It's on everybody including Arbeloa.

Im backing him regardless. He is a smart guy and that matters more here than tactics. I would like to see him earn a couple of roster changes and see how he does with a more balanced squad.

Agree to disagree. I put 0 blame on the new coach.

If we end up trophyless for the 2nd season in a row, I want nothing less than a complete squad revamp with big names going both ways, and a new coach that's a proven winner. I don't want no pussyfooting with experiments that may or may not work.

If Arbeloa manages to win LaLiga or the CL, then I'd be okay with the board giving him the backing with a few decent signings.

But I really don't see that happening.

He beat all of La Liga’s old guard in his first 16 games as Real Madrid coach.

The toughest test is about to come to him.

Making the stars buy into his plan or making the difficult decision of benching some of them for the sake of a balanced team.

He only needs to show how well the team has done in their absence and everyone should fall in line. Don't think AA will bench any of the big stars the way he's been talking about them. He has mentioned that he wants Jude to run less and in this set up he will run less. Something that is non negotiable for me is Thiago starting and I am sacrificing Arda for that

I've seen enough to be sold on Arbeloa. He has brought the best out of key players like Fede, Vini, Brahim, Tchouameni, Rudiger, and Huijsen. He's made Fran look like a competent fullback. He's controlled the dressing room. He's brought innovative ideas to the tacitical set up. He's passed the big tests successfully. Most importantly, he's trusted the wealth of talent in the academy.

The results don't matter to me to make this assessment so much as the process. I think he deserves a minimum of a full season. Next big challenge is somehow fitting Jude and, to a much lesser degree, Mbappe in.

I have a fear that the moment the big names come back on our work rate would be shit again.
If Alvaro can get Mbappe and Vini to buy in that would be great.

Seeing Alvarez chasing Jude today was mental.

Arbeloa leapfrogs an entire generation of wannabew GOAT managers and slingshots himself into the de jeur man of the hour in about one month of work, just needs to wipe the floor with Flick's Barca to erase all doubts.

Given the odds are against us in the CL and La Liga, I see Arbs leaving to manage another club and then returning back here in the not so distant future.

I'm not all in yet. But i'm optimistic as of now.

I'de still like to see him actually handle the Mbappe and Jude getting back into the lineup.

I didn't like how those two + Vini were pretty unsubable in games. Add the fact the team plays worse when those were on field.

He's got Vinicius and Fede playing better than they have in a over a year.

If he can get the best out of Jude then I'm sold.

That will be a big challenge. Jude, Vini, Mbappe and even Valverde play better when they play closer to goal or in Valverdes case when he is allowed to join in on the attacks. With Jude back, Valverde will probably revert back to being everyone's slave. Vini will go back to being shackled to the wings to not clog up the middle.

They are all likely starting against Bayern if noone gets injured, I guarantee you at least one player will play a role they dont like and it is up to AA to motivate them to do that. Valverde is an easy case as he is self motivated and doesn't have an ego, he has to sell it to the rest.

This is probably our best line up on paper.

    Tibu
    TAA-Militao-Rudiger-Carreras
    Tcho
    Valverde Pitarch
    Jude
    Mbappe Vini

For it to work we will have to start seeing creativity from Jude and not just endless running, it will need Mbappe doing the Brahim role defensively which is a big ask but certainly doable and it will need Vini putting bigger efforts on defence than he has had to do with Brahim. Above all we will have to be patient.
