What do you want him to do? He's a DM like Casemiro; their role is simply to win the ball back and pass it to better players.

Nothing like Casemiro. He’s not vocal enough or demanding for one in that position to organise the players around him. Good player but not the best we’ve seen.

I said this in the Xabi thread but I'd bring Zidane in just to get Vini out.

Zidane saw Vini for who he was, and that was when Vini was still humble and up and coming. Again, it won't happen because the club was dishonorable to Zidane and did him dirty.

    I wish him luck.
As i said in the Alonso thread, last time we signed a new coach in January we ended up winning the UCL and went from 12 points gap from Barca to a 1 point in the end of the season(now it's only 4 points).

He will obviously just be an interim manager. Hard to see him do it worse than Xabi let's be honest. I'm sure he can put 5 defenders at the back and kick balls to Vinicius and Mbappe like Xabi did. Great football philosophy Xabi.

Someone please ask Arbeloa who is the best DM in Spain at his press conference.:p

That was an all time squad. This one isn't as bad as 2018-19 but will likely finish 2nd season in a row winning nothing. Arbeloa is looking more like next in line to get sacked ala Solari.

    Some positives:

    - He has a stronger character than Xabi. We saw Xabi's character crumble within months. Arbeloa is apparently more in the style of Mourinho or Flick.

    - He knows the cantera well and we should make efforts to build a more "madridista madrid" instead of endless faceless foreign players who don't bleed the shirt. Hopefully he uses them.

    - The spotlight is now on the players. If they continue to shit the bed it is over for them in the summer.

Other than that this is obviously a stab in the dark but it is not that dramatic as others are making it out to be. We have seen this before. Zidane and Solari. 6 months and then we assess things.

That all time squad lost everything the season before(14/15) and looked like total shit under Rafa.
They weren't all time squad until Zidane was appointed.

i'm not a prophet so i don't know how we are going look under Arbeloa or what will happen to him.

I see some people on the forum saying they’re “done with the club.” I hope they genuinely mean it and stick to their word. At least then there will be fewer people here who constantly complain and blame the club for everything that’s wrong in their lives. But I know that probably won’t happen.

2014-15 team won 22 games in a row until Modric got injured. That team still had Kroos lol and we still missed Modric badly. Ceballos is the best midfield playmaker in this squad. :D

Losing to that Barcelona in the league scoring 90+ points is not close to what we saw with current squad for 1.5 years. Carlo 2014-15 squad was great. Benitez was total loser by that point with ego bigger than Mou.

Barça in that season were also either the best or the second-best Barcelona side in history (and even if it was during the Negreira era, that doesn’t really change it). This current Barcelona team isn’t even close to that level, and they still haven’t gone through any real crisis this season, unlike us.
    I
agree with what you said about Benítez as well, also he was already past his peak as a coach.

Rinse and repeat. We’ll be here again next season because the club can’t handle a bit of change on the field.

Nothing changed on the field. That was part of the problem.

He was brought in to make changes systematically and to be more structured. Then Vini went crying like the ******** he is and all fell apart.

They couldn’t handle it and decided to bring out the axe via the media.

Keep believing this narrative. Xabi "the great martyr".

No one cares anymore. We've moved on. Albacete on Thursday. Support the team.

For me, the club comes first. Whether it's Xabi or Carlos, I just hope the team wins the next game. People are spitting venom for Xabi's dismissal, but I'm sure none of us know the real reason. Fortunately, Pintu and Noko Mihic would return to their previous roles.

What can stop Arbeloa from benching Vini Jr?

It's interesting that Raul coached Castilla for 6 years and was never given the opportunity of coaching the senior team, while Arbeloa has coached Castilla for 6 months and now promoted.

Ya never know, maybe el Espartano has the sauce

Football is the most counterattacking it's been im 15 years. The way yall are stuck on a dead style of play from the dinosaur era (2010) has me in hysterics.
Talking like spurs and man utd fans. As soon as i here someone talk of modern possession style I know theyve loat the plot.

Its one thing to not have a possession based game, another to not be able to string literally two passes together and to need to hoof the ball all the time.

If Arbeloa can make the back four and Tchou defend without leaving as many gaps as they do regardless of the others' contribution, then he has done his job. Attacking is on the individuals, as Mbappe/Vini/Jude want.
