You guys are too much ;)

FYI, this issue has been bandied about ad infinitum on the mod board all day, and I am going to post what my final position on this is...not llike this has differed much from my original position, before this whole mess started. As I've stated numerous times, the FSU status quo was just fine by me, before things started spiralling out of control. I think it is only fair to you all here on RUS/UKR/FSU to know.

I would only add the caveat that if our other two esteemed moderators agree to the aforementioned (either to bury the hatchet or at the very least to agree to disagree & give each other a wide berth), then my only other request would be to add metros11 as a mod for all EE & all subforums.

I think the world of both metros11 & Shurik. I honestly do, and these forums would be a much lesser entity if either of them stopped participating. So there has to be a way to attain a happy medium on these issues. I tend to agree more with Shurik's opinions regarding the FSU melting pot & the cultural intertwining & common soccer heritage shared amongst FSU countries, but I also understand that there are some Ukrainians that really do take an exception to the whole "Little Russian" treatment they are sometimes afforded by Great Russians (my neighbor is one of those Ukrainians that is pretty militant about the issue). So I can understand both sides of the coin, even though I tend to have my own independent opinions.

I really don't think the revisions here are that big of a deal, but apparently others do. We've seen numerous examples of crossover between the Russian & Ukraine forums since the split, and I don't see any of that changing. So I disagree with Shurik that this will kill EE, or more specifically FSU soccer forum participation. If there is anything I can kind of see Shurik's point on, it is the marginalization of the other FSU republics discussion...that probably will be come more obscure, but it is a small price to pay for keeping the peace between two long time members/excellent posters/moderators/outstanding gentlemen who just don't seem to be able to coexist peacefully together.

Again, I would like to reiterate that IMHO that BS is hands down the BEST source for English language discussion of FSU soccer, in any form...what we discuss, argue about, translate, or otherwise blather on about is by far the most comprehensive source for English language discussion of the topics at hand...I'll say it again, we make the UEFA site's English language coverage of Russia, Ukraine, & FSU countries look like an amateur joke. And all of our regulars here deserve no small share of EQUAL credit for that, in addition to both Shurik & metros11, also IMHO.

EDIT: Deleted due to size :)

Perhaps we need our very own "Hot Slavic Beauties" thread in these parts to emm relieve the tensions?

Oh geez, just when I took my lowely Saturn from 11th place to 3rd in a matter of weeks and was in striking distance of first, this has to come. I may not have the history or valuble contributions of Shurik on these boards, however as much as it pains me, I must voice my support. I hearby second Shurik in that I will abstain from posting on these boards (damn, I had an excellent post in mind for the Ranking of the Soviet States Thread) until either the forums are reunited or a vote of regulars to the Russia, Ukraine, and the Other Soviet Republics as well as the former Former Soviet Union is held. In any case, hope this dosen't upset anyone, not trying to be a bitch or anything, so long and hopefully talk to you soon.

    Comrade Stalin has spoken!

As for my views - there's an ignore list for a reason. metros11, if Shurik really gets your goat, just ignore him. Really. It works wonders. Shurik, I'd advise you to do the same. Given the bile I've spewed on other boards, I'm hardly one to lecture anyone on manners, but this is beyond stoopid.

Mods aren't able to ignore users, as is my understanding. Violation of TOS for mods, and in addition to that I don't think mods have the ability to put users/other mods on their ignore list.

Slitty, I respect your opinions. Right now, if that is how you feel, please engage both Shurik and metros11 in conversation with PMs. They both have control over the current situation, I've washed my hands of it. It is up to them as of now, not me.

The we can de-modify Shurik and metros11. Get others in their place. (No, I'm not suggesting me!) Seriously - do any of them want to do it this badly? DK_USA or Yasik can mod the Ukraine board, I'm sure we can pick up another mod for the Russian board. Voila - problem solved.

And I agree Zenit, your manners are atrocious. ;)

    FM, to reiterate:

    1. The ideal solution is the previous status quo; however this requires some accommodation/agreement from the two esteemed moderators in question; it has been handed off to the admins/s-mods now.

    2. Failing that, I don't honestly see that these forums/subforums will suffer that much, given the current arrangement. Shurik is still a mod and a valued poster on EE/FSU, and I'd go farther as to say that he is one of the best contributors to BS in general, IMHO. Hopefully this will not change & he will re-think his whole position regarding this crappy mess.
