This sort of stuff has been going on around sports for years. Leagues and teams are looking for any way to squeeze out revenues, even if it means having to sell naming rights to corner kicks and halftime whistle. AEG has to pay the bills somehow and if this is the way they choose to, I can accept it.
I have seen a program from some lower division English club that had individual portions of the uniform for 'sale' to their supporters. So you can sponser Ian McWanker's hose (well, socks for us guys). And the program listed each players sponser(s)--some folks paid for the whole kit. It was really bizarre.
