"The Fire will begin the second half of its MLS regular season slate this Wednesday, June 29th when it plays host to Eastern Conference rival D.C. United at Soldier Field. The game, presented by White Hen's Oreo Polar Blend and Kraft Foods, Inc. will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT."

I know we've had promotional tie-ins for games before, obviously, but I don't know that I've ever seen a game actually sponsored in its entirety before. Is this a first? Am I remembering wrong?

From a team revenue point of view, I'm taking this as a good thing, by the way. In the global sense, the micro-level sponsoring trend bugs the heck out of me, but it is what it is, so if it helps the team's bottom line, I'm okay with it.

I recall "nights" being sponsored by various products, like "Hispanic Heritage Night" brought to you by Milo or things like that, but this is the first time I recall actual game sponsorshp.

Hey, if it means more $$$$$, then go, Johney go.

Kraft Field in Bridgeview? I've assumed LaSalle is still the leader, but Kraft is obviously working actively with the team.

We have had the Western Union Just Around The Corner Kick as well, and with the Bears and White Sox already having gone this route with season sponsorship, I'm not that broken up.

Let me put it this way...like Coz says, if it helps the bottom line and it doesn't involve Howard Balson saying Yahoooooooooo, then, I'll live.

This makes cents, and, there's a new Jimmy John's about to open in countryside, coincedence, not likely. The best subs yet.

Heck, go all the way and get corporate sponsors for roster spots. It could be like the endowed professorships at universities or endowed chairs in the CSO. (e.g. the Arthur J. Dunker Distinguished Professor of ...)

"This substitution is brought to you by the NahNah Company. Now entering the game is the XXX Corporation Fire Player ..."

I knew him back when he only had a couple of shops. That guy is a complete sack of crap. He dodged a date rape charge here in C-U back in the early 90s. I wouldn't buy a sub from him if you paid me. There are plenty of other places you can get a sub.

Each player should have a different personal sponsor.

Justin Mapp, brought to you by Rand McNally

Jesse Marsch, brought to you by the Volo Bog Preservation Society

Chris Rolfe, brought to you by Jaegermeister

Reiter and Cabellaro, brought to you by the Temple Stables Lippizaner Show

C.J., brought to you by Browns Chicken and Pasta

Andy Herron, brought to you by the Audobon Society

Will John, brought to you by the Mayors anti-prostitution thrust. (I said thrust and prostitution in the same sentence)

Jim Curtin, brought to you by the Iriquois Theatre Historical Society

    Bring 'em on
