Didn't know Barca had a friendly match today - in Sydney. Looks like most first teamers made the trip and played some minutes, including a full 90 for Dembele and 80 minutes for Busquets.

Hopefully the club earned some good cash for this, otherwise doesn't make sense to extend the season when next season is kicking off earlier than usual (to make time for the World Cup).

 

Barca women lost to Lyon in CL final. But they can still get one last piece of silverware this season if they get by Real Madrid today at Noon pst (3pm est) in the Copa de Reina SEMIfinal (Sporting Huelva awaits the winner). While Barca beat Real twice in UCL quarterfinals, once in the Super Copa semi, and twice in Liga play, there were some close games.

Of course the women's game is also up against the Roma v. Feyenoord Rotterdam Europa Conference League final at the same time.

 

Barca up 1-0 at halftime on a Mertens goal in 19th minute. Final 4 being played in the Madrid suburb of Alcorcón. And just as I post this Bonmati makes it 2-0 in 47th minute! Now 3-0 it is over, and Barca beat Huelva 5-0 and 0-5 in Liga play.

Roma up 1-0 at halftime on Zaniolo 32nd minute goal, match being played in Tirana, Albania.

 

Although I just remembered that there are 4 rounds of Nations League matches still to play, so the players couldn't really shut their bodies down for the summer anyway.

 

Some Busquets stats

Busquets was involved in a league-high 135 sequences leading to an open play shot this season, 18 of which led to a goal, another league-high, also 196 possesion wins, 13 of those lead to a shot on goal (2nd in league).
