The typical Dutch 4-3-3 converts to a 3 back when one of the outside backs overlaps, so starting out as a 3 back will be pretty natural for Dest wherever he might play. I always find it so interesting how the "formations du jour" evolve. Seemed like everything was a Xmas tree for a minute, then a 4-3-3 and now it seems like there are more 3-4-2-1's again... Or there's just more players I pay attention to playing on those set-ups. But Dest is Dest. He's been pushed into midfield now and again, but if you look at how Bosz uses, say, Junior - at LWB, RM, RWA... he's not afraid to move guys around, but rarely does that with Dest.
One of the funny parts of talking about soccer is we havent developed a very sophisticated vocab for formations. pointy ball has cute names for all sorts of formations and plays. soccer provides thw bare minimum at most.
Yeah. sorry to be bearer of bad news. Break requires surgery - broke while scoring. Good news. Not a leg. Bad news. Still a break.
C'mon get with the right coach / player speak man. Ream says it's a fluid back four. What kind of fluid he doesn't mention but at the moment it's not molasses so that's good.
Dest starts! but my schematic has him on the left, at LB, with Killian Sildillia on the right, at RB. PSV is visiting FC Den Bosch in the KNVB Beker (Dutch Cup). Edit: PSV up quickly 0-4 (Esmir B with the third goal).
He has a knock OPSTELLING PSV: Peter Bosz kiest vervanger voor niet fitte Dest https://t.co/9qffBdbOxL #PSV— PSV Fans (@psv_fansnl) January 17, 2026
They also play in the CL mid-week. You would think PSV would not need him to beat a mid-table team but it is 1-1 at the half.
Assuming you care if PSV win without Dest or Pepi on the field... which is a big assumption. Although Bajrak did start so I suppose we can still be happy-ish, although he came off before the PSV winner. Interesting sub as Bosz brought Flamingo on for him (D for middie) while also swapping attackers. Wanner continues to be on fire. PSV scouting remains top notch.
Dest starts, but PSV are down 2-1 in the 2nd. Driouech started up top. Be surprised if they don't pull off at least a tie, but a stumble at this point would be understandable. They've won a lot of games, despite the fluid line-up. Also YA Bajrak just came in at 48 for Dennis "today he's not the" Man.
Different look to the back 4. Jr back at LB. Til up top again, scores again as PSV bang 3 quick goals early. Dest off at about 74 with PSV cruising at 3-0. American-ish boy Bajrak started at RWF. Been getting a lot of minutes of late. Wanner with an assist - PSV scouting remains undefeated (except in the breakables department)
