Hey- I visited Eindhoven (everyone should go stand on the bridge there), it was nice. Oosterbeek, on the other hand, that’s definitely bucolic.
I hope he stays in a top club in the Netherlands. It's the one place where a fullback with serious defensive limitations can shine.
Made TOTW: 🇺🇸🌟 both Pax Aaronson & Sergiño Dest have been named to the Sofascore Eredivisie Team of the Week after standout performances #USMNT pic.twitter.com/aC2T3ax89X— USMNT burner (@burnerusmnt) March 11, 2024
Highest rated field player - lol. Dest' head won't fit in Phillips locker room soon! So, assuming he jumps this summer, what would be his legitimate options that provide a better situation. I guess the first and easiest would be a new coach at Barca that thinks he can contribute. So... Bosz! lol. Otherwise, who do we think could entice, pay and need him?
I thought when he went to Barca and still do that Bayern is the best fit. They are a possession team that likes and can use attacking backs. I know they are in a rebuild mode but I don't know if they want him. Dortmund if they get a coach that goes back to their old ways would also be a good fit.
Bayern would be a good fit if Davies leaves as he would likely be the first choice FB on the roster... no offense to Guerrerio or Maz (old AJAX co-RB). But if BVB finally gets their **** together and hires a premium manager then that would be a good fit as well. Heck, maybe Gio would get another chance under a new manager as well and he and Dest could team up.?.? Seems to be working for a lot of YAs.
More TOTW: Dest is in every TOTW possible, but Paxten Aaronson made his fair share for his performance on Saturday. pic.twitter.com/N0PfIeJ9m9— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) March 11, 2024
Being a full back who dribbles a few defenders and scores a goal makes you King of Netherlands for the week. Those are the Dutch rules.
At the very least it's more fair than monarchies whose basis lies entirely upon strange women lying in ponds distributing swords
Watery tarts are tasteless and pretty awful, IMHO. Frankly, I much prefer tarts that are sweet and creamy.
Mid-week PSV alert. The King of Netherlands of the Week will be traveling a few K east today. 1 pm (in Cal-i-forn-i-a) KO.
Real big game for Sergino tonight. Bright lights and lots of eyeballs on this one. Hope he struts his stuff.
Serge played well I thought, though I think he had a couple of chances to put a shot on goal and instead overcomplicated it by trying to make a perfect pass in traffic. That seemed to be a problem for the rest of the team as well. And Luuk completely fluffed his lines on a sitter that would have tied the score in extra time.
Wish there was one button to update the 4 threads, but here I am, working hard to make sure you ingrates don't miss the game. PSV have a Sat AM game (8:30 PST) v. NEC. Doubt Ledezma gets minutes but should be on the bench.
Dest started (Tillman came in for Chucky at the half, Pepi in the 60s, I think it was) PSV gets their first loss of the season. Dest earned a PK at 81 mins with PSV already down 3-1. LdJ missed it. This was one of those "statistic don't mean nothing" games as PSV had possession advantage, CK advantage, hit the wood work... but still lost. No chance of them not winning the league, but too bad for them. Much as I'm supposed to root against them, would have been cool to have had a perfect season with 4 Ams on the player payroll.
Sergino and Tillman start, Pepi and Ledezma bench, against Excelsior (Pierie not in the squad). ESPN+ match. Looking to start a new unbeaten streak.
Guess this game didn't excite anyone? 6-0 vs Paxten and Vitesse, 0 SOG allowed, couple of chances created, played the whole match.
Well this is not good. Sergiño Dest suffered an injury during Saturday's training session. The duration of the absence is still being assessed. However, it's almost certain that he will be out for an extended period.— PSV (@PSV) April 21, 2024
