I do as well, the only thing that I have reservations about is that every extra match we play is more revenue for the club.Something Everton needs, not to mention the exposure. Based on our lack of depth though it is a wise move.

I agree with you. Everton do need the revenue and exposure and it would also give them a good chance to earn a whole lot more money by getting into Europe if they win. I think they could win. But all this comes to very little use if they don't have the squad to cope with it. Playing in another competition may not be good for Everton yet. It would be horrible to see all of this year's success flushed down the toilet because of the excess demands put on the players next year.

i dont think everton will need to concern themselves with intertoto - they should be able to finish from 4th to 6th

Here is one thought, If we enter the intertoto then you could give the young lads more playing time and experience. Mcleod Osman Chadwick OHanlan Rooney and even Linderoth. Let them get the body of the work and if they dont succeed then you really havent lost anything, the experience would give them a lift as well as cash for the club.
Youre probably right BD19 I think we will as well and in that case Everton will have to do something in the off season to bulster there side for the extra matches. At least they will have additional cash to do so.

I never really thought of it like that, but you have a point. If they were to play in the Intertoto Cup, then this would definitely be the way to go. I think if you look at Fulham, they started out the season on top form because they had been playing competitive matches. But then they hit a wall physically and it hurt them. Pair that with a small squad ala Everton, and it spells trouble.
