ok so us soccer announced today that they will not allow any two sticks or flagpoles in the mexico match
so the question is are they serious will they enforce this at the gates?
if so do we try to sneak them into the stadium any way?

I wonder what that does to The Ohio State University drumline...

If this is the case then I am sure that the rule against drums is because of the Ohio State drumline. Nike doesnt want anyone detracting from THEIR show.

Didn't like the drumb-line idea at first and now I like it even less.

Also, I wouldn't try sneaking anything in. Going to the USA-Mexico match and getting kicked out for something minimal would be a waste of time and money IMO.

I'm still waiting to hear from AO/SA about this who have a history of dealing with USSF.

REGARDLESS, IF YOU WANT A PVC POLE FLAG IN THE GAME... EMAIL ME. Other methods to get them in may be possible :D

I get everything, but the drums. AO said they talked to USSF and they are getting in at 4 to hang banners and set up drums. Maybe it is just no drums brought in once the gates open...

I figured that and in a way it makes sense (I think it's stupid, but I can see their argument), now drums that's another matter...

sorry but this is terrible. There is so much excitment and such a boil among the fans, why, just why even step in and make that statement to the fans?? The Crew fans use flagpoles, why the hell wouldnt we be able to??

Flags are one of the most important aspects of a good atmosphere. We have to email the USSF asap. Flood them with mail immediately.

NO FLAG POLES! The color guard for our national anthem will be reduced to enlisted men with shinny helmets and two polished rifles.

Oh, the USSF means no flag poles for the die hard U.S. soccer fan that has spent a lot of time and money to get to the big event.

    Got it.

According to Brunken, no flag poles, which is terrible. I plan on attempting to bring in some flags on sticks (18" x 24")...hopefully they'll let them through.

    LAME!!

Whoever is is charge of this USA supporters stuff needs to grow some serious sack and get in Sunil's (or his reps) grill about this crap. First we get told we canb't hang banners at US games in NY because they block the gay US Soccer adverts, now we are told we can't bring in flag poles to waive in the section.

I know you USA supporters leaders are timid about rocking the boat, but seriously people let those nuts drop and get after these fools.

And, in the meantime, try and find small flags as well that you can carry in. They should let in small flags on sticks, and I think it'll be still cool to see hundreds of small flags waving in the section even if we can't get our 3x5s on poles.

I really think it's only because we're playing Mexico. I don't think they're worried so much about U.S. fans.

don't think this is truely the case, just think that some american supporters don't push the limit enough. that being said, the fact that the ussf did this, especially this late, is ridiculous:mad:. oh well, at leats the match isn't being played in salt lake.

Don't let this stop you from bringing flags. Just because we can't put them on poles doesn't mean we have to leave our flags in the car. Wear them as capes, drape them over your shoulder like a scarf, whatever you have to do. Wave them proudly in the most creative ways possible.
