Thats fine by me. We don't have the squad to cope with CL and Premiership footie at the same time. We'd probably get knocked out in the qualifying stages anyway.

    UEFA, here we come!

As regarding the headline, are you prophesying about yourselves after this round?

You must be some kind of scholar to think of a response like that. I would have gotten all mad and everything, but your right. I didnt want to say anything because im half peruvian, and so is Nolberto Solano, so I gotta look out for my countrymen, ya know?

Yeah, I love it when English teams do well in Europe, especially when it's with fast, aggressive play the likes of Manure, sometimes Newkie and (whisper it quietly!) the Arse specialise in. As much as I dislike Leeds it's been a real pleasure watching them boot Johnny Foreigner up the bum whenever they play. Even Chelsea on their day were magnificent (pretend to be neutral and re-watch their game against Galatasaray when they won 5-0). Although as much as I secretly enjoyed them winning, I really, really enjoy watching them get stuffed. It's one of lifes little pleasures.

As for Spurs fans hating Man U (and other teams outside London), I believe it's more likely to be the (spurs) fans from other countries who feel like this. My theory being that living in London tends to generate more towards near neighbours rather than bloody Northerners. Discuss.

And Toon_Toon, can we troll on your boards after we beat you?

I don't particularly dislike Man Utd. Chelsea and ARSEanal top my list. My comment was meant to wish Newcastle as much, and more, success than Man U, meaning more respect for English football. I also get tired of the same team winning all the time, and I still have a little distaste for Man U over that (though it was much more pleasant than ASREanal's current run). Anyway, all that matters in the end is

    GLORY GLORY SPURS!!!!

I dont see myself supporting any other English team besides Spurs. Its probably because I am not of English descent. But I'll applaud Newcastle on working a miracle to get to the second round. I just think that Spanish Opposition is too much for Europe right now. Barring AC Milan, F.C. Internazionale (Who decided that after their derby loss to the Rossonerri, they wanted to take out their frustrations on Newcastle, beating them 4-1) and Juve. Pretty much Spanish and Italian Opposition, but AS Roma are so dismal that its not even funny.

So I can honestly say that I dont care for much of England's teams, if not all, other then THFC.

i didn't live in london (well i did, but much later on). my dad was a tottenham fan, and so i inherited the team as well. having emigrated to the states when i was but a wee lad and being cut off from much footie news, i didn't get back to the game until 1996 (though i did manage to see spurs beat arsenal at highbury in 1986, i think, ossie ardilles scored).

because of that i didn't quite get the real hatred one apparently develops from years and years of weekly rivalry.

so i do rather enjoy watching english teams in europe and will generally pull for them. though much like jumhed, i also enjoy seeing arsenal, chelsea and leeds losing. it's kind of a win-win. if one of those three win, then good for england. if they lose then it's funny to watch them squirm. i don't much mind man united, i guess coming back to the game in 1996, their run hasn't seemed as annoying, and they do play some beautiful football. plus come on, did englishman watching the 99 champions league final, not let out a jubilant "YES" when that first goal united goal went in, followed by a "************ me" when the second went in :)
