Albany made it to the NLL final two years ago and now they have relocated to San Jose......

I would have thought the Ottawa franchise was going to move to San Jose? I wonder where the Ottawa team will end up, or if the league will just fold the franchise?

Outside of Toronto and perhaps Calgary, the Canadian experiment has been a failure.

Is there even a market for lax in San Jose?

    Which is better?

What I want to know is, what league is better, MLL or NLL? One is indoor and one is outdoor so I'm just wanting to know what you guys think is better and which has the best possible future of lasting. I'm a new follower of lacrosse and so far I like it about as much as other sports. It's not my favorite by any means, but I would rather watch it than golf or tennis and like watching it almost as much as baseball. It looks fun to play.

    I think I need a LAXative now.(sorry, couldn't resist)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp The Stealth opens its season today against the Mammoth in Colorado, and then opens its home season against the same Colorado Mammoth at the HP Pavilion at San Jose on Saturday, January 10th.

Perfect for a team that will go undetected by virtually the entire world!

Saw a bit of the Vancouver/Pheonix (formerly Columbus) game on one of the FSN stations I get on digital. Can someone closer to NLL tell me if the Arizona goalie was as fat as he looked? Dude looked like he weighed 350+ pounds, at least.

He's a big boy, but not THAT big. LAX padding for keepers is masssive, especially in indoor where GKs traditionally face more shots.

Thank you. That's what I was wondering about. I've watched the last few NCAA championships on ESPN, and I noticed that the goalkeeper padding didn't enlarge those guys quite that much. I didn't recall anyone wearing shin guards quite as obvious as what they wear for indoor, though. Given that there are going to be more shots (from closer range, too), I can see why they might pad themselves a bit more.

Yeah, the keepers look like bloated crabs to me. Always funny. And you'd think a chunk of frozen rubber at upwards of 100 mph would require more padding than a ball hurled off the end of sticks...

    Anyone else follow the NLL?

My team (Ottawa) moved last year, so I decided to follow Vancouver (fun team to watch).

It looks like in my area we will get 15-20 games on TV this year. :D

Next game on TV is Jan 10th when Toronto travels to Rochester.

    Did you enjoy the game?

I watched the Toronto-Rochester game on TV on Saturday. Rochester won the game to my surprise.

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp It was fun!

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Besides the general fun atmosphere, I guess it helped matters that the Stealth scored the winning goal in literally the last second to defeat the visiting Colorado Mammoth 13-12. :)
