The reason I was confused is that Cal Strikers list themselves as a professional team.

In January OSA wrote on their website:

"The league began in Region 1, with eight divisions of up to 14 teams each."

But under schedule and standings they only have 6 teams.

    Cal Strikers
    Laguna Beach
    Desert
    Lions United
    Scorpions
    MesoAmerica-San Carlos

"By September, OSA is looking to get Division III sanctioning for their professional league, and to launch the pro league in September 2025."

    Okay, then.

I never really counted NISA as much of anything, let alone pro :D

As for the women, 2 pro leagues...ok. Some markets in both leagues are weak or don't make sense and some overlap.
Just think if NWSL has 16 quality teams/stadiums and USL-SL has 16, 32 pro teams is nice
Also too bad USSF gave USL-SL D1 status. Should be D2.
From the size of their crowds , really is D2

    THEN

Have the women's leagues TRY pro-rel as a concept to see if it would work, would it add any excitement to the season etc. Would probably mean both leagues would have to operate at the same time.

    OR
Can NWSL stay with their season and USL-SL with theirs even if a team were to drop?
Is that done anywhere else in the world ?

My dripping sarcasm did not come through enough.
If we are not approving everybody, but with so many of who are approved still die, then we still have a problem.

PS- Don't know what a "mook" is, but don't appreciate.
I have never used a name for anyone on this board in all my years,
    Happy Holidays.

Just looked it up. You're blocked now.

That's not how that's determined, but, okay.

The Tampa Bay Sun play at a high school football stadium. They are not going to suddenly be able to afford USWNT players.

It won't work with women for the same reason it won't work for men on these shores. It's remarkable you don't get that.

You don't TRY things that have potentially devastating financial ramifications just to appease the Ben Fasts of the world.

Think it through. Then think it through again.

Super League schedule goes until Memorial Day-ish. The NWSL season started two and a half months prior to that in 2024.

    Haysoos.

NISA press release from a year ago mentions that they were promoted, in the interim they were banned from the NPSL and the website appears down, have no idea if this team will play in 2025 or not.

Oh, these mother********ers. They've been around for years, originally in the indoor soccer game but then got kicked out, then tried to dabble in similar ventures like semipro hockey and indoor football.

Yeah, your league is in excellent shape when THEY show up.
