https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...san-diego-1904-fc-demba-ba-nisa-sdccu-stadium "we’re certainly hopeful that we’ll be in five figures for the matches.”
Hey there might be five people there. I presume that’s what he meant, because if not I find their lack of marketing disturbing...
I can see why there was no publicity. Like Oakland they just grabbed black and white shirts off the rack.
Oakland’s colors are black and white (silver)... those are the iconic sports colors associated with the Town.
They are? I thought they were associated with the Oakland/LA/Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders who loved Oakland so much they sued it repeatedly and then moved away... twice?
https://www.oaklandish.com/collections/oakland-roots/products/roots-sc-nike-black-jersey Man, Nike's going to be pissed when they find out.
I’ll give the Roots credit for at least including their clever logo and the 510 patch. 1904 FC... looks like they pulled some off the shelf exercise shirts and ironed on their asinine crest.
Because of all the different clubs that wore those colors? Let's see...A's, nope, Warriors, nope, Seals, nope...so basically the Raiders. I certainly associate Oakland with the Raiders. But I don't think of silver (white) and black and Oakland the way I think of black and gold in Pittsburgh.
I mean I don’t disagree. Black and white to me is a lack of imagination combined with a lack of balls. It’s a safe boring move.
Philly's first home game postponed because of Dorian? https://www.nisaofficial.com/news/2...s-stumptown-athletic-rescheduled-for-november Need to recheck storm path on the weather channel.
Yes the raiders colors. Oakland doesn’t care about the A’s and while we love the warriors the blue and yellow just isn’t the Town colors. I don’t know how to describe it to anyone that isn’t from there.
Oakland’s jerseys sold out the day the released them. Enough people like them. I think their fire. I love the simplicity and black and white. Then the splash of accent color with the crest and the same mosaic design is used for the numbers and name. I think it’s dope. Plus got to love the 510 over the Nike sign. Warms the heart.
I was referring to the MLB players jerseys they did a couple weeks back. But I also find the Roots jersey to be boring. Although they’re better then San Diego’s.
Pretty much everything short of the Caribou from the old NASL are better than San Diego’s. That said I’ll still buy a ticket to the seemingly unattended game because I’m a sucker like that.
Grew up at the Coliseum man Silver and Black aren’t Oakland any more than the Raiders are. That ship sailed in the early 80’s.
Well, except that that "report" was debunked. I really have no idea why the game was postponed, but this is D3: the Charlotte area was shutting down in preparation for the hurricane, e.g. schools have been closed, etc. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Charlotte's D3 team might prioritize taking care of business at home more than a soccer game. It could also disrupt things like coach services who also have employees preparing for the worst. For a forum that purports to be invested in soccer, you all sure do shit on any initiative that tries to make more of the thing you're supposedly into.
4 more players and they'll have a team. This forum does not like Matt Driver. But I think like you it's probably a case of the Stumptown players being otherwise occupied.
He still can't explain it to you, man. "This forum" doesn't know Matt Driver and most people in it would be absolutely ambivalent about him as a person. Most of us seem to think his track record makes him toxic if you want to have, you know, a soccer something succeed. (We are also largely ambivalent about the actual Cosmos, Rocco, Detroit City and, going back a bit, Seattle. It's that many of their advocates are dipshits. That's what we don't particularly care for.)
