First Team Podcast has John Prutch saying to expect 3 to 4 new applications to NISA this spring. Prutch has stated in the past that most of the next applications would be in the center of the country. Any ideas or info anyone?

Chris Kivlehan tweeted that Bay Cities FC, from Redwood City CA, may be one of the expansion teams. John Prutch, on First Team Podcast, said that Atlanta and Providence franchises are making progress.

Prutch also said on the Knights who say NISA that at least one would probably not be on anyone’s radar (although that would definitely include the Redwood City one).
So pre-pandemic, the Torrent announced that they had landed a PLS-level investor. Who knows if that still applies, but they’ve got the team, stadium, and market.
Other than that, there was something about a Denver based club at one point.
I’m not sure where the Vaqueros are with their stadium plan, but I would say that’s another one to keep an eye on, as well as FC Arizona, who played preseason games against Cal United and SD1904.

John Prutch on 2Cents podcast with Omobi Okugo stated that in addition to Bay Cities four more teams in the east will announce their applications to the league in the next month or so. One will be in a market of a former NISA club, without saying which market, it's likely to be Atlanta; so three more teams in the east to join besides them.

Just curious, if NISA Nation gets going, do we still need NPSL and UPSL?

NISA announced AC Syracuse has applied to league. Also, Oneeyedfool has mentioned that Miami would be one of the other teams announcing soon. If Atlanta is one of the the remaining teams to be announced then that leaves one more for this spring.

John Prutch on Sight Lines podcast said that there were 5 new applications for the spring '22 season. One would be in Atlanta, others were not named but mentioned some Independent Cup teams were in the mix; so plenty of possibilities. Also that the Cosmos and Teamsterz could return; ...could.

Knowing the nature of D3 football in America I'm inclined to think not all will start so quickly. No matter the number it will be growth.

You see this in every league. Check out the feeding frenzy around a USL1 team in Spokane just because the school board approved funds for a downtown stadium. Even though no investors have said there’s interest.

Though we know our choice of name and logo will not please everyone, we are excited for our future. We look forward to kicking off our NISA team in Spring 2022.

NISA also announces that 1904 has merged with the Albion, a very large local youth club. The new name is Albion San Diego.
With Detroit City leaving the new expansion teams gives NISA 13 clubs for 2022.
