I have been looking for a good leisure/indoor pair of boots even though it is out of season. I was wondering if the Nike Total Magia was any good because I found a good deal online. Any problems? Also, what are the good points of these indoors. Also, rate on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best).

They are Total Crap for indoor football because they are too high and not breathable! However if you want to look like a soccer wannabe than they are good on the street...

I'd have to agree with Designez1 with the height. It seems very high and prone to roll. However, I have not worn them yet, so I don't have any real opinions on it.

Yes the heel is a bit high, but I adapted to it after a while.

The shoes are quite narrow too, I got pain on the upper surface of the foot when the synthetic upper 'pinched' my skin when I was walking/running (bending my foot). But that hasn't happened after wearing it for a while...

But the shoes are light, and looks good for normal wear!

My point is, if you want a pair just for football, probably should get something else. Get a pair of A3 pulse or F50 if you have the chance. My rating? about 6.

If you want a pair of nice indoor football shoes and also be suited for walking, I would recommend the Adidas Pulsado. Mega cheap but gets the job done :) The rubber grip is great too, on hard surfaces.

The Nike Garra are great indoors/street soccer shoes, they look like the Total Magia, but they dont have the Nike Shox, making them more lightweight and closer to the ground. Plus they aren't as expensive as the Magia

ClimaCool Sala is, in my opinion, just about the best Indoor/Leisure boot on the market. Really lightweight and crazy grip. Mine have lasted me about a year so far. I love em'.

you guys all say they are too high, but a lot of people have said that Nike Shox = the most stable and best cushioning tech. out there...

Shox could be a good cushioning system for running longer distances but indoor soccer is a totally different sport... Such a cushioning system just doesn't make sense for those short sprints and all the movements you do in indoor soccer. It's a marketing gimmick! And it's in NO WAY more stable than my ClimaCool Salas!!!

so.... indoor soccer isn't similar to basketball? quick changes of pace and direction?

have you worn a3? so what's your opinion of a3

    http://www.kicksology.com

chek out all the reviews of Shox & A3 based shoes.

I have the Magias, they are quite good. You might not be used to it if you've never worn a Shox before. I use it for indoor training and its really light, the first touch coating is neat too. However the sole is too thin for regular wear, try walking on small rocks or dirt and you'll see what I mean. I also wore them on hard artificial turf where cleats are not ideal and was ok.

I think basketball involves a lot more jumping than indoor soccer :D and the Shox are there to absorb the landing shocks (duh!)...
I have the F50 A3 but haven't used them indoor because they have black soles and not allowed in the hall. They are very comfortable on the street though.

uhhhh running doesn't require cushioning? Shox is a CUSHIONING system, even adiprene + has slight energy return properties obviously to the lesser extent of Shox/A3.

Why do you think there are cross-training/running Shox?

Even though the F50 A3's have a black sole, i imagine they are non-marking...

If we are talking about the Adidas A3's, I have a pair too that I bought for regular wear (I like boot-types), the ones I have are the Tim Duncan A3's. DO NOT GET THEM IF YOU HAVE LONG FEET, or at least go to a store and try them on, you'd probably need a size or two larger. These are the shortest shoes I have ever worn. My Magias and A3's are the same size, the latter is much shorter in length. Also they are very, very tight, wraps around your foot, and extremely hard. I think the review at kicksology mentions this as well, it takes a few b-ball matches to really break it in.

To even think of wearing these for soccer, indoor or outdoor or whatever, is crazy, these are HEAVY and thick, you can kick a rock and not hurt your feet.

Running is something else than SPRINTING! In indoor soccer you sprint more than you run. Have you ever seen sprint spikes? They have NO cushioning at all...
Yeah probably they are non-marking but the owner of the joint is very conservative and doesn't want take any changes.

how is sprinting entirely different from running?

so your telling me when you sprint in soccer, you run solely on the balls of your feet and your heels never touch...therefore requiring no cushioning?

On the first chrome magia's (not the new ones with red shox, but with the black ones), is the sole completly gray or is there the beige rubber like on the navy magia's.
