I have a question. I was sent a pair of Vapor VIIIs to test by Nike, and to be honest, the rip on them is getting pretty fricking monstrous. All along the instep. I like them a lot though. Do you think if I sent them back they'd accept them and/or send a new pair out to me? I have no box, no real proof that Nike sent them to me except through email.. Any ideas?
^^^I hate to say it, but probably not. Aren't 'samples' and 'test items' not covered under warrenty's? Since you're testing them... you never had to send them back?
Hmmm... if that is the case... you may be able to then! When I sent in some shoes, all i had to make sure was that the 'made' date on them weren't more than 2 years old. Nike accepted it for the ripped eyelet... and gave me a voucher to get a new pair! I see you're in england though... may not be as easy as us here in the US.... you can try it though!
I did.... but If i remember right.... some guys would be able to return shoes even without boxes.... can anyone confirm this? All that was needed, from my understanding... was that the shoe be under 2 years old. Doesn't say anything about a box of the shoe being needed when shipped back. http://help-en-us.nike.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29785/p/3897
I am sure you're safe... but I too would wait to hear back. Would stink to send away some shoes only for them to be sent back to you. Could have saved you shipping.
Just received this response: Hi Jonathan I'm sorry to hear that there was a fault in your test shoe, if the shoe came from us than it can be always returned, in order to do that I would first need an order nr. which starts with an EOxxxxxxxx. If you received the shoe in an other way than you can best contact Nike consumer affairs as they can handle other type's of returns. Keep in mind that you would have to add previous e-mail traffic that says that you received the shoe's for testing purpose. IMO, it says if it was Nike UK that sent the shoe (to you to test)... send it back. If you got it elsewhere... talk to Nike consumer affairs.
I think what it is saying is just send the boots back to that address along with a copy of all the emails you sent back and forth with Nike in order to get the boot for testing just to prove that was actually how you acquired the boot.
I think the people you need to be asking all these questions too is Nike - just send you concerns in an email and see what they say, at the end of the day you didn't pay anything for the boots so anything you do get is a bonus. Just email them and ask them. appleCORR
Going off the picture from Nike-Pro... it looks like the CR7 vapors. Being that they are labelled: Black/White-Metallic Gold Coin on the box.
Well spotted. But jeez, I've never seen a metallic gold coin that's pink and blue. Nike's colourway names are so bizarre sometimes
Had a response that says unless I provide evidence of the emails from the rep, there won't be a refund. Wonderful. Seems like im stuck with knackered Vapors then.
Nope. I have no direct email from any Nike representative. I don't have any contact with Nike reps, just Adidas and other brands.
it might sound stupid, but surely if you were sent the boots to review and you like them so much, you should follow the advice you give and purchase a pair?
Depends, as you will well know, once you have the luxury of receiving boots to review, you're less inclined to spend willy-nilly on football boots.
My colleague has the details, and at the time I received them I was a newbie and so he arranged it all for me.
