I ordered superfly II from them. Everything was authentic and the prices are almost too good to be true.
So what does everyone think will be the best way to clean the stranger upper on the new vapors? i have a feeling that turf is going to KILL it! appleCORR
Has anyone thought about buying the Vapor VIII Pros and just sanding off some of the metal stud so it's more appropriate for turf?
lmao, i swear i thought of that too, but you can unscrew it. i saw a vid where some one did that. but people have tested the vapor 8 on turf and they said there was no heel pressure. the wing at the back studs or buttresses as nike called them prevents this from happening. and i saw in the mls cup some players wearing the vapor 8 on turf. They look great...If Torres goes, I know he will enjoy them. Are they Kanga-lite? It is hard to tell from the pics.
are they going with all the boots the same colour again? sorry those pics werent showing when i posted these! (looks like im posting pics that are already posted haha)
I really believe that SG boots and even FG boots for that matter shouldn't be used on turf. Heel pressure is one thing but mostly, it's about stud/turf penetration. Once you plant your feet hard on turf, it's really easy for the "grass fibers" to entrench your long studs in place. Then coupled with soccer motions of twists and turns, it's really easy to roll your ankle (as the turf won't "give"), or tear ligaments in your knees. In your knee, your ACL acts as one of your links between your lower leg (tibia) and your upper leg (femur). If your lower leg is "stuck" in turf and you try to pivot your hips (pelvis), the twisting motion forces you generate is quite substantial and you risk rupturing your ACL, MCL and LCL. Rupturing your ACL, MCL or LCL is not fun. It happened to my teammate last summer season (while playing on natural grass). Couldn't walk for a week, didn't go to work and walks with a limp. He didn't get his MRI until Dec, couldn't schedule for surgery until Jan. Should be in rehab for half a year. So I think I will see him next summer. (We could have a debate on the Canadian health care system at a later date.)
Played in the new vapors tonight. Have to say they are the best vapor in a long long time. The upper is really thin (reminds me of the V1.06s) they have a really great touch. I wore them on turf for 3 hours and they were surprisingly comfy, a lot more comfy than my adizeros. I didnt get any sort of stud pressure from the back studs. One thing i will say is the way the front studs are designed you do get A LOT of traction from them, maybe a little bit too much for turf, but i think they would be perfect on grass. Haven't thought this in a while but well done Nike! appleCORR
They run true to size. One thing that is a tad disappointing is the upper is IMPOSSIBLE to clean, even if you dont scuff them the marks on the toe from where you kick the ball wont scrub off. I would advise against getting the white ones because they will look absolutely trashed after one wear! appleCORR
Of the marks on the boots or just thE boots, because to be honest they look just like all the pictures on the Internet. appleCORR
They fit exactly the same, one thing I will say is that the upper is really thin spit does have quite a lot of give in it. I don't know how much the boots will stretch with wear, but out the box they are the same fit as the 7s. You do not need to break them in at all, it's like wearing a pair of socks! appleCORR
