The commercial was quite funny. It takes place during an EPL match. A fan streaks onto the field wearing Nike Shox and runs around the pitch. Several players are shown laughing etc. as the guy continues his celebration of being on the pitch naked. At the end of the commerical he runs into the players tunnel while chased by the security and the commentators very seriously return to play by play of the match. This was quite a long commercial. I figure Nike made this commercial for the U.K. but decided to show it here. Baby steps...
Hilarious! I work in a appliance store and I looked up at the TVs on display and saw the streaker at an English match. I thought someone changed the NFL game!
Re: Re: Nike Shox commercial during NFL playoffs I was actually channel surfing at the time and when I saw the commercial. I looked to see what channel I was on. To my suprise it was channel 11 here in Los Angeles. I did a double take because I knew that is the channel of the first NFL playoff game today.
that is funny stuff... nike has a great commercial that is airing in france right now; two runners are running and they keep splashing each other with water; flicking water from trees, from puddles and then at the end a bus with a soccer team on board goes by and drenches them... it is pretty good, i would not be surprised to see it played here in the states eventually...
No, ITV is one of the TV networks in the UK. They started showing EPL games this year, I believe. I don't think the footage is real. Just doesn't seem like it would really take security that long to catch a guy. Plus when the camera zoomed in on the ads for Nike, as well as his shoes, it finally became obvious that it was a shoe commercial.
just imagine, if they are showing this good stuff now... what do they have in store for us next weekend during the super bowl!
No doubt. That new Budweiser commercial, with the chick wearing her ex-boyfriend's "huge" shirt was great too. I think the Super Bowl this year is going to be a great one, both for the game and for the commercials. But not for the half time show. Didja see that horrible Ja Rule thing during the Bucs vs Eagles game? Horrible horrible stuff.
Exactly. A few more things: - Millwall doesn't play in the EPL. - If they shot it at the Den, it's not Millwall because the home side is wearing red and white. - The shoes just came out in stores. They are Nike's most high profile running shoes and they wouldn't have come out without some sort of advertising push instead of relying on a happy accident at a non-Premiership match. - You see "nikerunning.com" on the stadium scoreboard.
Oh, were there some people who thought that was a real game and a real streaker? Ha ha. Hey, did you guys know the word gullible isn't in the dictionary. Seriously. Look it up.
you could obviously tell the close-up of the shoes was a seperate shot... yea? heck, they had forest gump shaking hands with jfk about 10 years ago in the movies...ya know what they can do now? i think it is a mix of 'created' footage and actual footage. but again, that is just a guess...
The game is about as real as the "games" during the Coors Light commercials, or the "games" that were played in the movie "Any Given Sunday," or the one on one basketball "game" Michael Jordan plays against himself in that other Nike commercial.
Have you guys seen the commercial where the teams are all naked and the pitch invader is the one with clothes on? http://www.aftersun.com/
Brilliance all around. Isn't Sunderland in red and white? I believe I read "Strongbow" as the sponsor of the team in white, isn't that still Leeds?
What do you mean "ESPN doesn't cover soccer"? Did anyone see the adidas commercial right after the gridiron halftime show with the naked hooligan running all over the pitch?
We know it was not a real match. I just put EPL as the league they were trying to portray in the commercial. My apologies if we offended your Premiership. lol
It must be rough to be so superior, yes? Haha etc. Most of us who saw the commercial realized after 2 seconds it was a commercial. The closeup of the shoes was a dead-giveaway. But it looked so real that anyone glancing at a TV as I did would have taken a second look. This must be bigsoccer. Someone has to feel superior.
