What your opinion of Nike picking up Juventus and will they mark any other Series A teams?

I despise the fact that Juve will have Nike next season.

As for other teams, well they already have Inter, who knows about any others.

Nike out of Italian soccer! Its hard to believe they want a part of Italian soccer, when they've done such a poor job with MLS, and US soccer. I guess money talks.

I think Lotto did such a damn good job with their kit this year. I think it's cool when teams have their kits made by a maker other than the "BIG 2" like how Mexico uses a Mexican maker and Italy does too.

Crappy names and ugly kits for the MLS teams, though things are improving a little. Worst offense, sending the US Nats to World Cup 2002 in a cookie cutter kit. How many teams showed up with that same kit, but different colors? Too many. Nike is just in it for the money, yet try and find a 2002 Quakes kit halfway through the season.

Nike designs one kit and puts different colors on it for all the clubs they supply. It used to be that each club had a different looking kit and you could tell right away who was playing.
MLS has suffered with Nike because I guess Nike can't hire a decent designer.

PS: who the hell would want a Quakes' jersey anyways???

Hello... they're all in it for the money. Nike is guilty of making uniformly ugly uniforms, that's all.

This is from an Adidas man who wants Brasil to wear Adidas, but hey, it's a business.

Question for the board: Does anyone here know whether teams send a design to the company to have kits made, or does the company sign the team and then design the kit without their approval? If Juve looks ugly, it's their own fault for approving Nike's design.

the sponsor has a big say in the final look; in case of Udinese Bernardi designed the whole kit by themselves, although they're not the kit producer

You accuse Nike of "Cookie Cutter" US Jerseys?
1994 Adidas sent almost all of it's teams with the same design. Three stripes over the shoulder. The only different jersey I know of was the butt ugly US jerseys that Looked like white wash denim.

I'm indifferent to Nike, or Adidas, or any clothing manufacturer. Some kits I like, some kits I don't. If I don't like it, I don't buy it.

I don't understand the cookie cutter argument either. Nike was looking to have consistency of their brand across all of their teams, it makes sense from a marketing perspective. AND Adidas did the same thing....

If Nike brings tons of money to my club, the league, or the national association I'm happy. If I were a Juve fan I'd be happy to hear that Nike was paying some unheard of sum of money to the club. More money to buy some other players or build a decent stadium.

I have a Bob Long Classic Intimidator, with the new clamshell frame with Dragon trigger and the Dragon low rise. I have a Shocktech drop forward with a Pure Energy 88 cubic inch 3000 PSI Carbon Fiber tank. I use a Smart Parts Freak kit or a 16" DYE Boomstick for my barrels.

I have a DYE Invision mask, with DYE Core pants. I play tournament speedball and our team just received a DYE sponsorhip deal. I've got lots more too, just don't feel like listing everyting I use. So what do you have?

To keep this thread related, I think Juve should go back to Kappa. I always loved the Kappa stuff they did for Juve.

It just dawned on me that if Juve does get Nike then it is much more likely that they will be the opponent of Man U next summer in Giants Stadium.

Wow, I guess I gotta cheer for the refs in that matchup.

I dont know who much Nike is going to change the current kit. My personal preference for kits is the Italian national team by kappa. The jerseys rock. The Merrel (however it's spelled) fabric is so light and you cool so well. To bad is so expensive, otherwise my team would be wearing it. I hope Nike dosent use the current team design (Man U, USA, Korea etc..) when they switch over.

I have always loved the Juventus black and white stripes, but I think this year's jerseys look a little bit ridiculous. As long as Nike has a similar design with the black and white stripes with better lettering and numbering on the back I will be happy.

I honestly don't think that Nike's bribery tactics...erm, I mean overpaying, erm, I mean making the kits for European clubs really has that much influence on European buying habits.
