    USA Today publishes TiVo ratings

USAToday published the TiVo Top 10 today (2/25/04) based on actual live viewing of 20,000 households (on page 4D).

Interesting to note that TiVo's Top10 TV shows differ significantly from Nielsen's ratings on the same page!

    This will be interesting.

I guess for now they only publish the 6 network ratings but Nielsen is buying the TiVo usage stats for ALL channels and Nielsen incorporates those TivO stats into their published ratings.

So if you many of us watch (and record) soccer on ESPN2 - Nielsen will notice!

I couldn't live without it. I'm able to watch about 5 games a week thanks to Tivo.

Oh yeh I own TIVO. It will change how you watch TV. I am not kidding. I no longer watch commercials. I no longer care what time a show comes on because I know my TIVO has it.

It is especially great for soccer fans as those EPL games are at some godforsaken hours. During MLS Shootout I record all of the games and just watch them at my leisure.

If you are thinking about getting a TIVO I highly recomend you get one of the new generation ones that allow you to record two shows at once and watch a thrid.

I just got a 40 HR Phillips unit through DirectTV for $119.00 and I love it.

    Yes...I do.

Just do what I do. Make a "Sports/Soccer" Wishlist that records all programs in the wishlist and set it to #1 in your season pass priorities.

Yeah, I know, I need to get a life.

Yeah... This week I recorded one EPL match, one CL match, and one Mexican match this week and I barely could fit watching all of them in my schedule. I really don't know what I'm going to do once MLS DirectKick starts!

    TiVo monitoring

I love my TiVo too and don't mind the tracking but if you're a privacy nut, you can opt out of its anonymous tracking system.
