It is pretty cool. I had no idea he was taking it either, I briefly met Andy, but I'm not sure he'd recognize me if he saw me or not. I need to copy that bad boy to my hard drive.
I'm taking summer school classes at Hahvuhd. Both of my classes (International Relations and The Evolution of Modern Jazz) require much reading (The jazz class only for now, though i think, as we are reading a book we are finishing up tomorr.) Should i take extensive notes on the readings so i can pay more attention to the lectures in class without having to scrible down tons of notes, or should I read the stuff, but treat that as foundation for the class, where i will scriblle down tons of notes? --- Should i try and install a strap peg on my ukulele myself, or have someone else do it?
Sorry, one more: How can i reduce the size (as far as dimensions, not bytes) of one of those animated GIF thingies without stopping the animation permanently?
Try to read the material. I discovered that nothing irritated a professor so much as students not having prepared for class. I had more than one professor go off on me in college over this. Definately prepare. Unless you have some skill as a luthier, I would avoid instrument modification like the plague. Ukulele huh? Check the skills of up and coming ukulele ninja David Kamakahi
Never a problem, that's what this thread is for. There are programs that can do it, I'm not sure whether photoshop can or not. Treetaliano once resized an animated gif for me without stopping the animation, but merely reducing pixel size so as to make it BS avatar-friendly. You may want to PM and ask how it works.
Nico....you have got to be the only guy that can throw up ukulele up and comers at the drop of a hat. Impressive.
I hate to divulge my secrets, but it comes from when I reviewed CDs for papers and could basically get anything for free. I took advantage of that and schooled myself on Hawaiian music, Indian jazz, and anything else I could find.
He was one of Vietnam's greatest folk song writers of the 20th century. They said he did have a bit of a problem with drink, so that could explain his dissheveled weird look.
The funny thing is, that tenor uke he's playing looks a hell of a lot like mine. I'm sure it's WAY better htough. I'm also willing to bet that his doesn't have a pickup like mine. ..i'm also willing to bet that he doesn't have an overdrive pedal for his uke like it do. ...i'm also willing to bet taht he is WAY WAY better than i am.
Niggity Nico: When you make it big, will you come back and let me be in your moocher's club errrrr posse?
Without a doubt. And me making it big will happen soon if I don't step up the exercise and cut down on the pizza and beer.
