correct me if i'm wrong but I haven't seen a carrera thread yet. turns 18 tomorrow, making him eligible to sign in europe. believe it'll be hamburg.
You can watch it with subtitles. It actually works quite well for most parts. My main take aways were: -he hasn't earned a single dollar from soccer yet -he favors the USMNT, but the door for Mexican FA is not closed -the way to Europe is more difficult for Mexican youth players because of the visa regulations -Mexico needs to send more players to Europe if they want to keep up with USMNT in the long term -he trained with HSV and Nuremberg, but the pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty -Twitter helps young Americans because European scouts watch these scouting/highlight feeds
Nico, best of luck in Kiel. We love you 💕 pic.twitter.com/RBCo10TOzP— Angelina (@angelina_che123) July 18, 2020 Didn’t see that we have an existing thread on Nico. Mods, please merge if we do. Looks like maybe a trial at Holstein Kiel?
@TheFalseNine @bungadiri Could we merge these threads please? https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/nico-carerra-at-holstein-kiel.2110676/#post-38805836 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/nico-carrera-euro-oppurtunies.2109842/#post-38793618 Thank you!
@TheFalseNine @bungadiri Sorry to bother you again - I should have clarified there were three threads (the one I posted on and the two links) to merge. So this thread still needs to be merged with this one: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/nico-carrera-euro-oppurtunies.2109842 Thanks again!
I know absolutely nothing about HK, but is this a step up from signing for FCD that has two aging CBs? Maybe this is what he needs to improve his game but they're a B2 team and I don't see much reason to get excited here.
If he plays (big if), it is an upgrade just from a visibility standpoint. They're midtable this year but were promotion contenders the previous two seasons
official announcement Thank you, God, for my Journey, coaches, teammates, staff; thank you for every person you have put in my path to strengthen my character. Nico is going to a club in Kiel...but it’s actually KSV Hessen Kassel. Which is in the Hessenliga (German 5th tier).
i think you might be wrong here. holstein kiel uses the #ksv on twitter and kassel is 4 hours from kiel, which on nicos tweeted out map is the city he says he's going to

Plenty of talent is grown in lower divisions. Christoph Metzelder was 19/20ish and playing in the German 4th division. By 22 he was in the World Cup Final with Germany. For an 18 year old, the 2. Bundesliga is a fine start. If he performs well he’ll see his opportunities.
