    a few nicknames come to mind:

    "Wembley Wizards" - Scottish side that went to Wembley and defeated England in 1928.

    The "Magical Magyars" - undefeated Hungarian team of the 1950's (1952 Gold Medal winners; 1954 World Cup runners up)

    and the "Wunderteam" - Austria's side of the 1930 with a winning streak and lopsided victories.

    So far I got:

    La Máquina: River Plate of the 1940's. The team consisted of Juan Carlos Muñoz, José Manuel Moreno, Adolfo Pedernera, Angel Labruna and Felix Loustau.

    Clockwork Orange: the great dutch national team of the 1970's.

    Ye-Ye team: Real Madrid of the 1960's named after the Beatles' song "She loves you".

    II Grande Torino: The dominating Italian side of the 1940's that were killed in a plane crash at Superga.

    Máquina Tricolor (Three Color Machine) - Fluminense 1976-77 - A team with incredible stars, like Rivelino, Paulo César Caju and Pintinho.

    Democracia Corinthiana (Corinthian Democracy) - Corinthians early 80's - A team who players have much command in the admnistration and strategy of team.

    A academia I e II (The academy, I and II) - Palmeiras 60's and 70's respectively, the unique team who have more than 10 games against Santos of pelé and have a better retrospect.

    Os Meninos da Vila (The Village Kids) - Santos 2002-04 - Reference to the team formed by youngster from youth division of santos (Robinho, Diego, Elano, Deivid, Alex...)

    Tico-tico no Fubá (A song name, the concept is hard to translate) - América-RJ 40's - A team that pass the ball very fast and try to keep the ball possesion, the music have a very fast rhythm.
