from MLs Rules http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/about/rules.jsp?rule=4 Goalkeepers wear a slightly different uniform, providing them with extra protection and a distinctive look. `Keepers wear padded gloves to protect their hands, as well as shirts or jerseys that easily distinguish them from the field players and referees. Some goalkeepers even exercise the option to wear long pants during a game, which afford some protection while diving to make saves Now his jersey isnt easily distinguishable from the back. Can't we get DC points docked for this or somethng? Gotta go clutch some more straws.
You just gave Greg and Co. another excuse. Well, you see, we had a hard time beating DC last night because their goalie's shirt wasn't obvious.
Nick's jersey was protested a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember what team but it might have been the Metros. The ref failed to make him change it. Not being able to tell the keeper apart from the field players would seem to hurt both teams pretty much equally but I'm guessing it would cause confusion on corner kicks which might favor the offense.
