According to everyone's favorite GM at media day today, Guevara has signed and should be here ASAP. Not sure if he'll play this weekend.
that's pretty huge for NY/NJ: Mathis, Guevara, Moreno---pretty creative stuff. When will they announce it on site or on MLSNet?
Glad to hear it's official. I'm very excited about this acquisition. He seems like the anti-Roy Myers.... Hopefully he'll be available to play this weekend. After watching last weekend, no way Mathis can play the full 90 in the midfield.
Maybe we should chip in a get him those pills advertised on Fox Sport World. You know, the ones that result in more 'stamina' Or as the lady with the goofy smile says, "Yeah. Stamina. That's a good word for it."
Great news. Nick threw out a target date for Guevara playing of Apr. 19th in the Daily news. The pieces are all coming together. We may start a little slow but I think we'll end strong. I predict us finishing 2nd in the East behind Columbus, but then turning hot in the playoffs and making it to MLS Cup this year.
Super, you are full of negativism. All you do is criticize. Stop that. This is not even funny anymore
Stadium has nothing to do with player signings, does it? And you'll be making that joke for a mighty long time, cos we got jerked around, again and again. Ain't gonna be a Harrison stadium. If we're lucky, there will be a rinky-dink Crew-type stadium in the Giants Stadium parking lot in 2008, or even later. You want to direct your frustration at someone, send the Metros postcards with the '60 to 90 days' joke. But it's a stupid and irritating waste of time to repeat it here, kind of like when really dim kids repeat the same knock-knock joke because they thought it was funny the first time they heard it.
I must say that I agree with the optimists here. Player signings have nothing to do with the stadium being built. In Guevara we get one of the top creative midfielders out there... this should be cause for rejoice not sarcasm. Bradley seems to have delivered a top notch team for this season. Let's celebrate that, and not the fact that NJ (not the Metros) didn't support our ideas for a Harrison stadium. Do you really think that anyone at Metros headquarters has willingly done something to hamper our chances of getting the one and only way to become profitable? Horray for Guevara... let's go Metros!!!!!! My prediction: it will take 60-90 days for some of the posters here to write something that makes sense.
Are we putting the cart before the horse? Lets do the math: 21 Players on the roster (assuming Addo has signed). 7 are rookies. 3 are in their 2nd year. That makes about half the roster pretty untested. Plus: Injury/Fragility concerns: DiGiamarino, Mathis, Pope Not yet played with team: Guevara, ?, ?, ? Major distraction candidate: Howard (thank you, ManU) All I can say is...thak god I'm an optimist too! V.O.R.
What I'm getting at is that if you want to be a Metros fan, you probably should draw a mental line between the playing (Bob) and non-playing (Nick) parts of the organization. To his defense, Nick is trying to get a stadium built in a very tough economic environment to be asking any governments for money. Contra Nicko, he's a blundering blowhard who probably put all his eggs in the Harrison basket too early. I have no worries about Bob. This guy has his ************ together. You would be a fool to judge Bob (who will get this club a real trophy this year or next, I guarantee it) by Nick's record or abilities. The only problem is he'll have to bring it back to Giants Stadium.
Re: It's Thursday, 11 AM. Do you know where your #10 is? According to Bradley on Talk of Our Town, no. He's currently having visa problems.
if he's wearing #20, according to the article, im assuming no #10 for us this season, unless they give it to Wolyniec dre
