I watched this video today. It's an hour and 46 minutes long and it is entitled "Maladetti Rigori" (Damned Penalty Kicks). It's from the RAI produced show Sfide and I found it on www.raiclicktv.it. It may be a bit saddening for die-hard Azzurri fans like myself, but it is also a must-watch for any Azzurri fan. It tells the story of the three World Cups (1990,1994,1998) that Italy lost on penalty kicks. It starts out by showing the shoot-out against France in '98 and then goes back to 1990, showing the highlights of each game, with interviews with various players like Vialli, Carnevale, Schilacci, Giannini, Ferri, Bergomi, and Baresi. Then after it's done with 1990 it goes to 1994, and shows the highlights of Italy's games, with interviews from Baresi, Massaro, Pagliuca, Donadoni, and others. It's really great. Here's the link. Enjoy! Link: Go to www.raiclicktv.it Click on "sport" near the top Scroll until you see "SFIDE: Maladetti Rigori". Click and enjoy!
I think the video shows just how much quality we had and if it wasn't for "I Maledetti Rigori", we may have won another World Cup.
Thanks for the stream!! Yes it hurts to watch this stuff but none the less it makes you more passionate about the upcoming cup. I forgot that France missed two pk's in a row and the stupid Italians followed suit after each miss......absolutely unbelievable. You would think that when the opponent shoots first and misses that the pressure is off at least a little yet we missed two in a row after they did. As for '94, Why Signori wasn't taking a PK I will never understand. You can see my thoughts on that on a recent thread i posted. Thanks again though
Sacchi didn't play Signori at all in the final. He held a grudge against Beppe because he refused to play as a winger.
Yes I know he didn't play in the final.......but still noone can tell me why Sacchi didn't sub him in during extra time since he could forsee the likely possibility of the shootout. He did have a sub left during extra time if i'm not mistaken and subbed someone else.can't remember who
You can ****ing thank Albertini for the first. I remember watching that game and looking at him as he walked up to set the ball, and it just hit me, right in the gut, "He's going to miss it." I had the same feeling when Serginho came up to take the penalty against Liverpool.
wow, thx allot for this allot of hotness on there... i was looking for this. finally i get to see notte mondiali, the stupid rai wont show it in belgium.... thx again xxx
Man poor Pagliuca when he said "Late at night, when I'm about to go to sleep I think that if it wasn't for that 1 penalty, I would have been world champion."
too sad for me to watch My first ever world cup 1990 i was only 10 late at night in iran i was watching how schillacci came through and stunned the world. I knew it too from following his league games, i kept saying bring in S he will score and my family was there....he came did the magic and everyone loved it 94 was sadder cuz i was in US by then and just like this year's final, whoever i watched with was against italy and what a sad ending. 98 well i guess we got revenge for that and EURO 2000 2002 definately fixed but after all these years, JUSTICE PREVAILED!
This video has nothing to do with Italy's soccer history but it's soooo funny and happy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6gtyvJ5XhY Why the lads were singing? And can anyone kind enough to tell me what's the song's name?
today i was watching rai int'l and they played a short video of italy's games (including goals) with U2's ONE playing in the background with mary j blige....anyway it was really nice. i just found a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k71I1EPvhlE&search=rai%20italy%20u2%20one
there's 2 things i would have changed... the penalty on grosso...they only show him on the ground for a split-second.... a nice slo-mo would have been cool. and derossi getting red carded...they showed materazzi's red card. still....it's so good that i can't stop watching it.
