http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/07/ngwenya-begins.html#more This American connection with Klinsmann at Munich might be useful after all. But there are at absolute minimum 15 different American players I would expect to be on trial at Munich before Ngwenya Ngwenya ≥ Podolski (duh!)
Woops. Lol!! Moderators close this thread. This thread would probably be interesting to see in MLS: N&A or General instead...
Ives attributes this to the handiwork of Martin Vazquez, but I suspect that he is wrong about that and it is Klinsmann himself. IIRC, Klinsmann had a hand in Ngwenya getting a trial in Spain a couple years back. edit: Here is the old bigsoccer thread on that. It was Getafe. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436879
If it isn't a trial, then what is it? Ives used the word "trial" in his post, and the source material (from Sports Network) uses the same vocabulary to describe it.
A week of training with the club. Consider it a favor for a friend. Come on now people. I suppose Bryan Namoff will be trialing with Manchester United next week as well? Or maybe Brandon Prideaux with Real Madrid?
