Anybody got some info on pick-up games in the Orange County area? The players don't have to be EPL-caliber, I'm just lookin' to get playing again. I'm in Irvine, but willing to travel for a good game.
I am relocating to LA pretty soon. I have found it hard to find a decent website for amateur soccer in the greater LA area. I am 32 years old and have played soccer since I was 6 years old. The last 14 years I have played in competitive amateur leagues in Germany. I grew up in Santa Monica, but have lived in Germany the last 20 years. I have been supporting the Galaxy since the beginning. The last game I went to see was the 2:1 loss against Chivas in August. Anyway, I want to continue to play soccer when I get to LA. If anybody has any suggestions, please contact me. Thanks. BJ
There's at least one game at the ARC fields at UCI on the weekend. Send me a message if you want the email address to get on the list announcing the game. That's just one game, though--there are plenty more with different people. The guys I played with were all mostly grad students, so a little slower and not too competitive. edit: and I just checked my email, and there's a game today at 3pm at the ARC fields. Take a white and a dark shirt.
I live in Mission Viejo, and I don't have any guaranteed games for you, but I used to go to the old world cup center fields (on La Paz and Marguerite) to kick the ball around, and I nearly always found games to play in. Some of the people that are there are on teams. I actually got picked up by one for a while at one point.
If you don't mind the drive -- Cal State Fullerton. Saturdays. Morning and afternoon. Although they don't play like EPL pros, there is definitely EPL flavor in that you got people from around the globe play there. Good bunch of guys.
www.coastsoccer.org Im on a team in the league, it is a competitive league. My team will be looking for more players for next season shortly.
