Butler - UW Milwaukee in Milwaukee at UWM at noon Sunday (16 Nov), playing for a NCAA tournament bid.

I'll be there, wondering if anyone else was thinking about going or would like to.

I'll be there, look for the band of kilt wearing, swordwileding lunatics.

Can't say as i'll be supporting Butler, since it was thier crying that lead Horizon league to move our supporters stands from behind the goal to midfield.

Anyway should be a good match they always play eash other tough, except for last year when we absolutly owned them.

  3. My hangover from Friday is cured, but Milwaukee ain't happening today. I don't know much about Butler except for Hala's bro, but UMW has some pro prospects. I'm interested how Khaled El-Ahmed looks. I saw his PDL season ended on a cheap shot hack from behind and wonder how his knee has come back. The other ex-CFRs, Blake & Dombrowski, T. are quality, though Dombrowski needs to ease up on the Dema imitations. Jallow started slow, but looks to have it in high gear at the right time.

    UWM 1 Butler 0

Bobby Lish on a PK in the first half.

Khaled has started the last 5 games or so for UWM since returning from that knee inkury. He started slow but recently has come back into form, he may not be back 100% but close. When he is fully fit he is a top notch defender.

    Worst ref ever.

I swear, St. Silva is more competent than this guy. Dodgy PK, a number of clear missed calls, miscalled corners and throwins all over, poor control of the match.

Butler certainly didn't play at their best level, but it still blew. No at-large bid probably despite beating Creighton and tying Indiana both away.

    Oh well. Next year.

PS: Apologies for not being on top of the college game locally before; but one, man does UWM have a great stadium in the middle of downtown, on campus; and two, where in the hell did they dig up this guy (i guess he's british) that coaches them?

PW sat with us first half, and I saw Nick Walls and Mike Magee's dad there. My dad almost got thrown out for yelling at the ref. Crap day, but I'll take it for a win next sunday. Plus I won't miss Rory's tournament game now.

Same thing for Marquette-- Marquette plays at Valley fields, which is just to the west of I-94 as you are driving into downtown. Right across the street from the casino.

not quite downtown...technically it's on the East Side about 4 miles from d-town, but is one of the best, albeit smallest, college soccer settings in the U.S. - much cooler than Marquette's Valley Fields location.

    Louis Bennett,

    http://uwmpanthers.ocsn.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/bennett_louis00.html

who played with the Milwaukee Wave from 1985 to the first year i was there, '87, and has been at UW-M since '93 - first as an assistant to current Yale coach Brian Tompkins and since 96 as head coach. Louis IS British, he's a great guy and a pretty good coach - 19-2-2 in 2002 and today marked his third straight Horizon League conference championship.

    Well...he still sucks!

Really I had no idea it was him. Never seen him that close before or he'd never done anything to really piss me off I guess.

    [sarcasm]
Hey, It's more downtown than Bridgeview.
    [/sarcasm]

    ...and he sucks. :)

Milwaukee blows! (cmon you didn't expect me to be objective, did ya?

I agree that the ref sucked, he did suck both ways though. No matter how bad he was, he was 100 times better than the guy from Friday..that guy had no business to be on the pitch, absolutly horrible!!

UWM has won 5 out of the last 6 matches with Butler....clearly the team with the most class...the better team did win today.

Butler blows....must have been a long bus ride home.

    GO FIRE!!
    CRUSH SAN JOSE!!

Man you REALLY have to do something or say something pretty obscene to get kick out of our field.

I can say with complete honesty that every post from Nick Sackewicz has been without error. He is obviously the better GM.
