Since the EPL sucks... Season just started with Bayern absolutely dominating Bremen in the first 15 minutes. Goals from Alonso and Lewandowski. This one could easily end 5 or 6 to nothing.
Thought I'd also add in the pregame show they mentioned the Fire being interested in Bastian Schweinsteiger (Grant Wahl reporting).
And Celtic/Rangers in the SPL, Real Madrid/Barcelona in La Liga (though Athletico Madrid should be included as of late), etc etc etc. I usually don't watch Bayern games but it's the 1st game of the season and I'm primarily watching to see how many goals Lewandowski scores.
No they didn't, did they? Are the "Fire interested" or was Grant Wahl channeling me and pointing out that the Fire would be beyond stupid not to be interested? Of course, the Fire have proven to be beyond stupid, so
Guillermo Rivera @FireConf SI claims #cf97 interested in Schweinsteiger si.com/planet-futbol/… There are other names higher on their wish list.
Yep, and all those leagues are boring as well. But at least with the other ones you get a Coke or Pepsi option. Bundesliga is the worst offender these days.
What higher names? Some Uzbek striker from the Swiss second division? No bigger names, that's for sure. The Fire are full of shit if they say they do.
So, this season is shot. Strike the deal, launch the season ticket drive, let him train and rest and launch the 2017 season with him as a focal point.
I thought ManU were working on buying out his contract so he could leave on a free? I that happens, I think an MLS team could sign him up 'til 9/15.
I haven't really been following what's going on with Schweinsteiger, I just thought I'd mention what was being reported on the FS1 pregame show. That said I'd be shocked if the Fire go farther than "we're interested" and actually sign him to a contract. Maybe Arne has a hand in this?
My interpretation of the Fire "being interested" in Schweinsteiger is the fact that the Fire have a discovery claim on him or on the top of whatever allocation list that might apply OR this is MLS trying to keep the Fire relevant while Rome burns or Andy sells.
