well,as long as i remember it is only the 1st time there's a NY derby in the regular season

it could be compared with the Old Firm(BLUEvsGREEN)but in this case, you could like both teams :)

Another week, another Jaguar loss. It's so frustrating, I feel like vomiting every time I see them.

    That being said, Go Jaguars!

    Thin skinned today aren't we?

Congratulations about being a fan, but you do realize that L.A. would probably sell out the first few years, then the Jaguars would be in the same "shithole."

Thanks for the shitcago comment. Very original....never heard it. Carry on.

This blows, I'll be going through Chiefs withdrawl this week.

Anyone think the Bengals hype is a bit much? Yeah, they are playing a lot better, but they are still the Bengals and last time I checked the orange and black were still below .500.

Agreed about the Chiefs withdrawl, but it will allow me to watch all the games this week on my NFL Ticket, instead of just the ones while the Chiefs aren't on.

Yeah, the Cincy hype may be much, but sheesh the last time they had a winning record was 1991. So at 3-4 with a new coach theres going to be hype. I personally hope they win the AFC North, because if a crap team is going to be in the playoffs, it may as well be the Bangles.

    Bucs over Saints
Duce McAllister has been running well, but the Bucs need the win too bad. The Saints defense is just what the doctor ordered for the so far underachieving Bucs offense. Maybe Johnson, Johnson and McCardell can get that passing game going this week.

    Cowboys over Redskins
Thats right, I think the 'Boys will be 6-2. The Tuna just finds ways to get the most out of his players and win games. He prepares them for every situation, and teaches me how to not make errors that cost other teams games. Washington has had trouble running the ball, and also some trouble on defense. Dallas defense will keep them in the game long enough for Quincy Carter to make a play to win the game. It'll be close though, just like any other NFC East dogfight.

    Dolphins over Colts
Tough call. Manning is on fire while Greise is just getting his chance. Both teams have good defenses, but Miami is at home and is riding high after their Monday performance. James is back, but he'll be outdone by Williams. In a close AFC East battle, I take Miami with home field advantage.

    Lions over Raiders
The Raiders just aren't good. They're coming off a bye but their MVP is out. Charles Woodson, arguably their best defensive player, is shooting off at the mouth about how the coaches ego is causing problems. If a team ever were to be said to be imploding, its this team. On the other side Harrington won't play either. This game could turn out to be a down to the wire shootout, or it could just bore you to death.

    Panthers over Texans
As much as I'd like to take the Texans, I think Stephen Davis wins this ball game. But, if the Houston defense and hold Davis (Delholme isn't going to win the game with his arm alone) then David Carr will get a chance at some more late game heroics.
    Giants over Jets
No one is really on the road for this one, there'll just be more Jets fans than Giants fans. That said, the Jets do have a shot with Pennington returning. But I gotta believe the Collins and Barber are pumped for another good game after beating the Vikings on the road last weekend. Close game, but Pennington is still rusty and can't finish the Giants off.
    Chargers over Bears
The game between the two worst teams in football. Why couldnt they have an AFC West Best from the Bottom Two Teams team vs. the NFC North Best of the Bottom Two Teams team? Chargers/Raiders vs. Bear/Lions would be fun to watch. :) Other than that, Tomlinson is the lone shining start in an otherwise dreadful game.

    Ravens over Jags
The Ravens defense is just too much for the Jags. Although, Jimmy Smith does have big days against the Ravens. Leftwhich just needs to get him the ball. Jamal Lewis will have a big day.
    Bengals over Cardinals
4-4 baby, and still one game back of the Ravens after this week. I'm officially on the bandwagon. Not that I think they'll win, I just like rooting for the underdog. The Cards stink, and the Bengals have some offensive power, although Corey Dillion is a punk and a cancer to this team.

    Seahawks over Steelers
What happened to this Steelers team? If they lose, and I believe they will, they'll be an absolutely terrible 2-6 and virtually eliminated from the playoffs (although in the AFC North, they still have a chance). The Seahawks will want to keep pace with the Rams who are riding high. The Seahawks WRs need to see more of the ball though.

    Eagles over Falcons
Dan Reeves is losing control in Atlanta. After thier playoff run last year, its terrible to see such a meltdown. The Eagles are righting the ship, and McNabb gets a backup secondary to get more on track against. The Eagles RB by committee loses a member this week with Westbrook out, but Buckhalter will get his chance.

    Rams over 49ers
Garica is out, and that isn't good for the 49ers. Ratay will throw it up, but Owens isn't the Moss type of WR to go up and fight for the ball. The Rams defense has been eating teams up, although they may be without two defensive line starters. Bulger, Holt and Bruce are clicking. Faulk is set to make his return. San Fran's season will be over after this game.

    Vikings over Packers
Farve is 2-9 in the Metrodome for his career. He plays terrible indoors, but especially in Minneapolis. The Vikings are one of the leaders in takeaways which doesnt help Favre much either. Ahman Green will reallly have to carry this team if the Packers win. Michael Bennett makes his return after foot surgery in training camp. He ran a 4.3 40 last week and claimed to have only been going 70%! Wow.

    Patriots over Broncos
Yep, the Pats are doing it again. Like two years ago, they're finding ways to win games that they have no business winning at all. The Broncos on the other hand are going to struggle until after their bye next week when Plummer could return. Portis is a great back, but with no passing game the Pats can stack the box and shut down the run.

sorry i snapped at you i was in a bad mood coz the israeli soccer teams owners have decided to blackout the EPL and La Liga broadcasts in order we'll have to watch their crappy games and pay for it

believe it or not but the shitcago comment was spontanious after the Bulls and Fire damage to the Knicks&Metros has crossed through my mind :)

and as for the original subject i don't see how a new NFL franchise in LA could possibly fail but i don't want the NFL increase to more than 32 coz now you have 4X4 in each conference and that way it should stay in order to maintain equal schedule

**** that. Move the Raiders back. Please. Besides, they're the team with the real, current "attendance problem." Almost got blacked out for the Monday Night game last week v. KC. And I've been to Jax, it's by no means as much of a shithole as Oakland.
Yes, SF's season will be over Sunday barring a miracle. Last time in StL, the Niners gave away the game several ways. This time, it's the Rams' for the taking, IMHO.

Then again, Garcia hasn't been throwing exceptionally well all season, and Rattay has looked okay in mopup/injury replacement mode. In fact, TO (which stands for Terribly Overrated) suggested Rat get the start a few weeks ago after a good job in relief. Rattay throws harder than Garcia (who floats long passes), so precise routes may work better.

If the Rams are missing a couple D-linemen, that could be a problem. One area the 49ers have improved significantly since the opener is the O-line, who are just pushing opposing D-lines around (ask Sapp and Rice).

Big factor, IMHO: I just don't see SF stopping that St Louis offense, especially with Faulk healthy. And I'm not sure SF's offense with a backup QB can keep up. To win, SF will probably have to score at least 28. They don't, normally.

Maybe this should be on the Business and Media board, but I don't know where else to find football fans.

Does anyone know how long DirecTV has the rights to Sunday Ticket? Ben is probably saying "Why? Do you really want to watch the Jags lose every week?"

The answer is yes, I do. I hate the Giants and the Jets with a passion, and thats all they show up here.

    Anybody? Anybody know? Bueller?

DirecTV signed an extension with the NFL during the last offseason to keep NFL Sunday Ticket exclusive to DirecTV. I think it was a 5 year deal.

You should just get DirecTV. That is what I did a few years ago. I have the basic package with local channels which costs 39 a month (this package is 150 channels I believe), and then I have to pay 5 bucks for each TV I have it on after the first (you get one TV for free but I think new customers get a better deal). I also got sports pack for 12 bucks a month so I could get FSW and a bunch of other channels.

Don't listen to the cable company, reception on satelite is fine, even when it rains. DirecTV also isn't as expensive as some think.

I remember when Dallas week was a huge deal here DC. Now with the state of the 'Skins it's kind of an after thought. Regardless though, I think the 'Skins are playing more for pride than anything else this week and they give the CowPokes a good scare if not not an outright loss. Watch LaVar, he's a man on a mission.

Yeah, I'd agree that you should just get DTV. What sucks though is that many people can't buy it due to location. I don't think it should be a monopoly, I think every satelite provider (or local cable) should have access to the Ticket.
And by the way, I'd never say "why would you want to watch the Jags lose every week" I have been a Chiefs fan since I was a little kid and have watched quite a few terrible seasons. No matter what I'd want to watch my boys play, win or lose. So I know what its like. But you have to admit, since the Jags were an expansion team they've had pretty good success.

Bucs roll over Aints. I'm suprised Haslett is still employed. Have I said that before? :)

Especially if the Redskins are in as bad of disarray as reported, Cowboys bounce back with a home win.

Colts pull out the road win in SoFla, especially if E.J. stays strong. A running game to complement the pass, and Indy will go far.

    Don't care about Raiders-Lions, but Detroit's at home. Doesn't matter they'll lose.

Panthers eek out another one in Houston, who has been competitive each week except for KC.

Giants over Jets. If for no other reason than NYG always hits their stride after doom is predicted.

Chargers still distracted for obvious, more important than football reasons. Bears win at Soldier Field.

Ravens over Jaguars. What will Brian Billick bitch about next? I will admit that Heap had that touchdown last week, but Billick is a bitch.

Bengals! Bengals! Bengals! Time for a road win at Arizona. Marvin Lewis has Cincy in the right direction for the first time in 15 years for the franchise.

Steelers demoralized, Seahawks won't be after cruising to a home win. Should be plenty of chances to get points.

Eagles may be getting their act together, and the Falcons? Puhleeze. They may be the ones trading the #1 pick in 2004.

Rams will annihilate the 49ers. No Garcia? No chance.

Vikings will beat the Packers at home.

The Pats' inability to score points frightens me, but Belichick will build a scheme to key on Portis while making Danny Kanell think he has more passing options than he really does. 17-9 New England.

Very true Ben, but Mark Brunell is my favorite player, and I feel that they are giving him the shaft. Right now I feel they are just playing for a early draft pick, which is fine, I guess. Even better if we end up with a Larry Fitzgerald or a Roy Williams.

I have to wait for my contract with Dish Network to expire before I get DirecTV now. Bah.

This Cowboys-Redskins game so far is the biggest comedy of errors I've seen in a long ass time. On both teams. Can there be more than two plays in a row without a turnover or penalty? BTW, nice catch and tip to a DB by Terry Glenn. Couldn't happen to a nicer ashole, I mean guy.
