Given Jeff hasn't started a thread (and I am bored at work) I figured I would give a shot.

Oakland (-2.5) at KC - Gannon + no KC secondary = Oakland back on track. Jerry Porter will catch a TD for the fourth game out of the last five

Chicago at Minnesota (-1) - This one will be a shoot-out, at least Moss shooting off at the mouth about Culpepper. Chicago D loses another player to rehab and is soon forced to call in U of Ill players to fill their roster - Minnesota to cover

Atlanta at New Orleans (-4) - A good ole fashion family reunion. Sorry Michael, oops Mike, you don't have the supporting cast Aaron does. New Orleans to cover

Cleveland at NYJ (-3) - What happened to Cleveland - they go from contender making stupid plays to Bengal like quality. NYJ thank lord that Vinnie got hurt giving Chad the chance - NYJ to cover and Cleveland fans heard booing TC from Ohio

Pittsburgh (-2) at Baltimore - No Bus, no Ray-Ray. Plexiglass has owned Baltimore though. Going to be a homer - B'More with the upset

Detroit at Buffalo (-7) - I like Buffalo to win as Detroit can't stop Moulds, Price, and Drew. I like Detroit to cover as Buffalo can't stop anyone (except the Fins)

Tampa Bay (-7) at Carolina - Carolina is starting someone named Fazani - 'nuff said. TB to win and cover - All offense to be provider by Derrick Brooks who will be saying "Give me the damn ball"

Tennessee (-5.5) at Cinncinati - I am going to go out on a limb here - Cinncy to finally win. Upset of the week here folks.

Seattle at Dallas (-3) - Does anyone really care one way or the other except for the rushing record. It is not a prime time game so Shaun will not do anything. Toss up - my lucky coin says Dallas to win and cover

Arizona at SF (-8) - Are the Cards for real? Are they really the most feared bird in the world? No, Jake is wrong and niners will win - but they won't cover the spread

Denver at NE (-3) - Given the off week I got to take NE here to win and cover.

Houston at Jax (-10.5) - I wouldn't give Jax 10.5 over anyone right now. I think Brunell is still seeing little birdies. Jax to win but not to cover

Indy at Washington (even) - are the odds makers nuts. Washington - team without a QB. Just lost two lineman for the week - hello, they suck. Indy as the lock of the week

NYG at Philly (-6.5) - Fans boo McNabb, they admit they love him, then boo him. In any event, Philly to win and cover

There you go folks - call your bookie now! :D

    Great preview, some thoughts...

Don't forget 4 out of the 5 corners for Oakland are out and I think it's like 6 of the 8 secondaries are injured if not out. I never thought I'd say it, but someone would actually be better off with the Chiefs secondary vs. their own. I don't think there's ever a more gauranteed bet than the over/under on this game cause it's only at 55 1/2 last check! Both teams will have 26 by halftime let alone 26 in 4 quarters. This is probably one of the most exciting matchups all year. If Oakland loses watch out cause that's 3 straight after a 4-0 start, that will be tough to recover from. If KC loses, well let's just say this has been talked about as being the most pivitol game for the Chiefs in the last decade or so (minus playoff games) cause if we lose, it's 3-5 for us, 0-3 in the division, Vermiel will probably say he's done after this season, Carl Peterson (12-year GM) will ride off with him most likely and that means it is time to clean house all over the place. I don't think we'll understand the magnitude of the loss until it happens.

Pretty much every Chiefs game, especially division games have come down to a winning field goal attempt and I don't see how this one is any different. It's a 50/50 game, so since the line is 2 1/2 towards Oakland, go with the Chiefs.

I really hope this game is on TV, should be fun. NO does cover.

Yeah, Buffalo will roll over Detroit, that's a damn good offense.

Man... What happened to Carolina? 3-0 to 3-4. Oh wait.. they actually played some competition. Well... that is if you want to call Arizona and Dallas "competition", they are at least compared to the likes of Minnesota and early season Baltimore and Detroit. Tampa Bay by two TD's.

NOOOO!!!!! Don't say that, NEVER SAY THAT!!! Cincy will lose and the perfect season will be intact.

Oh god, what a bad matchup, though not as bad as last weeks Dallas vs. Arizona game that set the NFL back 15 years.

This is also a toss up game and since it's in NE I'll give it to the pats by a field goal. Should be fun.

Here's another pretty bad matchup and I really could care less about it.

I don't know that it's as much of a lock as you say. Indy ain't all that good. But Washington is worse. I would have set the line at Indy -2.

I want someone to do a poll in Philly "Who would you rather have, McNabb or Ricky?" and if those ungrateful fans say Ricky, I say move the franchise. When McNabb is being inducted into the hall, I wouldn't be suprised if those same fans who let out the BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! at the draft are sitting in the back few rows still booing this guy.

Buffalo over Detroit in Offenseapalooza. Good because I start Eric Moulds, Henry, and Stewart on my fantasy team. Oakland-KC is Offenseapalooza II, with KC finally breaking through in the shootouts.

You will see the real Patriots this week. Belichick's had time to right the ship, plus Troy Brown (I think) is back. Tebucky Jones was on AM 950 The Fan in Denver and admitted a lot of their troubles have been mental, not physical. That changes and the Pats charge onward. Need to hit the bar since TV is still in the repairs.

Bengals lose, but a close one.

Tampa Bay gives up 3 at the most in Charlotte.

Holy John Kitna, Batman! What is going on in Cincy!

On a less pleasant note, Trent Dilfer: torn achillies, out for quite a while not just today.

It's not a Fox doubleheader Fear. Fox is likely carrying the later AZ-SF game in Idaho.

Jees.... What's going on here in KC. #1 and 2 offenses in the NFL and all we have is 13 first half points? In this absolutely critical game the Chiefs, we've basically given away 21 points because of a 15 yard penalty at the Oakland 3 on 1st down which led to just a FG, and two Trent Green INT's in the red zone. :(

    Welcome back to earth Trent.

Yeah, I'm looking at losing some money on the over'under (55 1/2) on the Chiefs/Raiders game. I, just as everyone else in the country who is remotely knowledgable about the sport picked the over. Some things I just don't understand. Chiefs are driving though, but still... when the Chiefs score here, that's just 20 points total with <19 minutes left in the game. Need probably 36 in the 4th quarter. Possible, but tough.

Derek the Chiefs-Pats game was 109 at the half, 17-17 after 3, and ended up 41-38 so you never know.

Back to reality ;), the Bengals have blown the lead.

Yeah, it was pretty amazing football. I think the problem with this game is that the clock is just running too fast, start of the 4th was at 2:00. There has been lots of field goals........

s**t raiders taking the FG. 11 minutes for 33 points.

.................. a lot of wasted drives. I should have actually seen this, not very often do division games, especially rivalries with the magnitude of this one, become shootouts.

    Whoa!!!!

I just now saw this, Minnesota 25-0 over Chicago? What the hell? Is there any teams who you can predict less accurately than the Vike's?

    ***

And update on the Vikings/McKinnie situation. McCombs thinks he'll have his #7 overall draft pick signed by the Nov. 12th deadline. In Aug. the NFLPA accused the Chiefs and the Vikings of possible collusion, since then the Chiefs have signed Simms (who is now out for the year) and both Simms and the Chiefs agreed to exclude the Chiefs from any penalties if both team are found guilty of collusion.

    ***

Another loooong wasted drive in the KC/Oak game, Gannon pass picked off, then KC punts it away. One thing I've notied in this game, there hasn't been one big play yet, not one. I'm used to seeing plenty of them out of both Holmes and the opposing teams offense each game.

    Thanks

Sorry about the loss of cash, Fear, but from my perspective in Western PA, it's starting to look like we can finally declare the Kordell Stewert experiment to be officially over. And that's good news, in these parts.

Really, don't even bother typing when the bengals take the lead. See, by the time you manage to hit the SUBMIT REPLY button, they will have already lost said lead.

    Congrats emmit.

Oh god, listening to the Bengals right now. Tuned in just in time to hear Dillon, 1 minute left, 4th and goal at the 1, basically for the win. He doesn't get it, but they are reviewing it.

    *crosses fingers*

    YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No conclusive evidence to overturn. He crossed the line, barely, but was ruled down before he crossed. Dillon would have walked in from the 1, but when the game is on the line he trips over his teamate and falls just before the goal line. LOL

Not so fast my friend :) KC's D finally came to play today! And what better game to really flex their muscles than against the hated Raiders.

Congrats to Emmit for breaking the record. Consumate professional.

    Re: Re: NFL Week 8

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. We totally took away the Big Play factor from the game. Gannon wanted the Big Play all day and he sacrificed a lot of downs trying to get it. Gannon wasn't that great today either, he threw it away quite a bit (results of good pressure and good coverage). And there was just about no running game. But the biggest reason the Chiefs D held Oakland was because Oakland was Oakland, a team known for stupid mistakes (i.e. penalties). While they haven't been the traditional Raiders lately because Gruden wouldn't stand for it, they imploded today, more so at the end when they basically kept KC's offense going strong down the field for the final TD to make it a two score game with less than a few minutes left.

So the 4-0 Superbowl fav's turn quickly to the 4-3 Raiders who's future for this season is pretty much up in the air.
