Starting things off with a bang, New Orleans will turn the tables on Atlanta. The visiting team always seems to win in this series, and I think the Saints have what it takes to get it done.

Cleveland will not look good but eek out a win at Cincy. I'm trying to figure out if the Bungles win another one this year.

Pittsburgh wins at Tennessee. The Titans have won four in a row, but aren't convincing by any means. Steelers rebound from the bad tie.

Indy rolls over Dallas at home, I don't give a s if the Cowpokes had a bye week.

As bad as Miami has looked recently, I think they'll be able to run just enough on the Ravens to get a home win.

I know Green Bay always struggles in the Metrodome, but they won't here. Minny's a mess and the Pack know they need to keep winning for home field.

The NY Giants are playing at home, so they'll beat Jekyll and Hyde Washington.

Arizona is tanking again, and now they go to the Vet to face a pissed off Eagles team. Andy Reid fires up the troops, and Philly cruises at home.

The Niners get it done in Diego. The Chargers put up a valient effort but fall just short.

The Jets are playing better, and should continue that in Detroit. I'll go with the hot team in this tossup.

Even if they showed up last week, I had a feeling Seattle would trip up the Broncos. Denver always struggles in Seattle, and will now without Sharpe and a banged up Trevor Pryce. Ephraim Salaam is banged up too, and he protects Griese's blind side. Seattle puts pressure on Griese early and often, earning the upset.

Jacksonville won't lose to Houston again. Next.

Especially if Faulk plays, the Rams DEMOLISH the Bears on Monday night. Chicago could be headed for 3-13 or 2-14 folks.

Finally, in the most important game, we have the rematch of the Snow Tuck Bowl. Yeah the Raiders supposedly want revenge, but will they even sell out the game? I don't know why, but I think the just as motivated Pats take it on the road. Belichick will shine with a defensive game plan that gets it done.

Can you believe this? The Packers, in week 10, can clinch the division.

    How sad is that?

Chiefs and Bills should be a lot of fun, all offense, and no defenses.

    Chiefs 35 - Bills 30

NO vs. the ATL should be a lot of fun as well. It's great seeing that family in the same division fueding it out twice a year.

    New Orleans 27 - Atlanta 24

San Fransisco vs. San Diego is another great matchup for this week, but it's definately not going to be that close of a game. Look for San Fran to open a can of whoop-ass on Marty's D.

    SF 30 - SD 17

Raiders vs. New England is an overhyped matchup of two teams going nowhere fast. Both are underachieving teams who wished they were as good as they should be.

    Pats 17 - Raiders 14

Redskins vs. Giants? God... don't put me to sleep.

    Giants 3 - 'Skins 0

Any update on the condition of Tommy Maddox?

God I hop it's just a bruise or something and he'll regain feeling (I'm presuming he lost it?) like that Texans player did after week 1. I can't even imagine what his family is going through right now.

    :(

While I sit here and look at the Chiefs and our playoff situation, being at 5-5... normally we'd pretty much be out of it. Typically you can go 10-6 and most likely get a spot, and I don't like our chances of going 5-1 in the remaining 6 games. But with the way the AFC looks this year, if things go right, you could be 8-8 and get it. This conference is packed with teams near .500. San Diego will lose today and Denver will most likely win, and that leaves only 1 team with more than 6 wins! Only Houston and Cincy are eliminated now, that's two compared to the 8 team in the NFC that are for the most part done.

    Crazy.

Haha... just heard Mcnabb broke his ankle and will be out 6-8 weeks, so I quickly went to my fantasy team to add his backup and then stopped, cause I though "wait a minute... who's his backup?" so I go and look at the depth chart and see that it's Koy Detmer and I'm like... "Oh, ok, nevermind then, I'm happy with Vick.

    :p

    Sucks for Philly fan.

It was reported on ESPN Radio that Cower said that Maddox has some feeling in his extremeties.

    No shit.

All I can say is thank God Andy Reid's been giving the running game a fair shake over the past four weeks. If Duce Staley has anything left in him, he's going to have to show it for the next six weeks.

Most importantly, ESPN reported on Primetime that Maddox has feeling in all extremeties.

Chargers just beat the Niners in OT. Not good for Pats' playoff chances but you have to hand it to them.

I can't believe the Niners lost that one after being up. Drew Bries (who knows how to spell that name?) is one of those guys who just knows how to comeback and win. I remember it took him only a few seconds to beat Ohio State a couple of years ago. I would guess he had something to do with this win.

Actually, I wanted to post after Jeff as is required in the NFL thread. :D

Exactly. Too bad more people around don't appreciate the rivalry. The weather would have been perfect in Minneapolis today. In the 20s, sunny. Too bad the game had to be played in the fake conditions.

There's still plenty of room on the bandwagon, if not in the Georgia Dome. Nothing like a sweep of your biggest rival!

How the FU% do you let a team open the second half by keeping the ball for 9:42? Think it's time to quit watching for the week.

Oakland has the game in the bag. Sorry Jeff, but this game I am rooting for the Raiders. Except I have Garner and Porter and they aren't getting squat for stats. Stupid Crockett!

[weekly rant]"For the love of God, can the Steelers find a freaking field goal kicker already?!?!"[/rant]

Good to hear Maddox has movement in all extremities. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

The local papers and the one newscast I caught this morning all have Maddox coming home today. That will definitely be a miserable flight for the guy, though, regardless of how much room he'll have in first class seats.

As to the kicking... it's the turf at Heinz Field, don't you know that? And at every other NFL stadium, apparently. Not to mention the practice fields at St. Vincent College: Steeler kickers were getting booed occasionally in TRAINING CAMP, so this season isn't much of a surprise -- oh, and Peterson was definitely the best guy in camp. He may be thoroughly inadequate to the job, but he's the best guy they had in camp.

Here's a column about the Steeler kicking game by local sports guy, Guy Junker

    http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/sports/s_103113.html

And here's Cowher basically saying we need a new kicker (duh)

    http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/sports/steelerslive/s_103121.html

Now, let's talk about the fact that a fairly typical girl's softball team could convert 6 out of 10 3rd downs agains the Steelers defense

    49ers squandered a 17-7 4th-quarter lead, to lose 17-20.

The young Chargers led by Tomlinson & Brees are growing up fast.

I hope Maddox is going to be able to come back. What a horrible thing to happen to the guy. He's having a fantastic season, and now this.

I'm also pulling for a Maddox recovery.

Pats are near toast. In the wild card, they trail San Diego and Oakland, who they've lost to, as well as Indy/Tenn. 2nd place. Add that they lost to 7-3 Denver, and it's obvious they have to win the AFC East to get into the playoffs. However, they win out they do that. 10-6 may do the trick as well.
