Of the players who've received their first senior callups this season, and those who should in the not-too-distant-future, who do you reckon will have the biggest long term impact? Butler has 2 caps btw Has to be him for me, though I'd say Noel Hunt will have a huge impact when he breaks through.
although i hate to say it, most of the players listed above haven't been doing that well this season. the only premier clubs after alan lee and the ones who are going to get relegated thomas butler is a very talented footballer but seems to get injured as much as keith o’neill. it doesn’t help that he plays in the same position as damien duff sean thornton started well for sunderland but had faded faster than the winter sun andy reid – my tip for the future. he fast, a great crosser of the ball and loves to take on defenders richie sadlier – i hope for his sake the rumours surrounding his injuries aren’t true. it would be a huge loss graham barrett – brighton don’t rate him that highly and he isn’t permiership quality. arsenal will sell him close season richie partridge started well but is only featuring for coventry in a bit part capacity. he may have done enough to show g.h. that he deserves a run in the first team paul tierney is currently a crewe and is doing okay i think. the just is still out on him i think noel hunt has potential as too mark rossiter and will flood. there is a young guy at west ham (his name escapes me) who's very much in the joe cole mould and is highly thought of.
Frankk, Butlers actually a right mid fielder he's just played on the left most of his career, so him and Duff shouldn't be a conflict. Thornton is young so he and Butler will be knocking on the door very soon. As for Partridge, he was an ever present in the side until he and all the other loan players were sent back because Coventry had no chance of promotion so had no need to have the financial burden of keeping them all.
I thought about Willo Flood, but given that he's only just stepped up to the U-20 and U-21 squads, I figured it was a bit soon. As for the rest of them being unproven - well, that's the point of this thread....no fun polling if everyone already knows the answer Slash, did Butler play in Greece as well? I didn't think he had, but that could well be the lack of any sort of coverage talking
No played against Finland and the Swiss, wouldn't blame you not remembering him against the Swiss since he came on with only a few minutes left having being drafted in from the U21s, he's been injured since then.
There's a young guy playing for Man U. at the moment - great player but needs to work on his social skills and anger management. His name is Roy Keane. With any bit of luck he could lead Ireland to the World Cup Finals someday.
