Re: Official :: Sons of Ben Membership Fee? Hmm...BBQ, soccer games...these are events I can drink beer at. I'm in! I think it'd be hilarious to show up to RBNY games just to root for whomever is playing them...
What about a Saturday race at Delaware Park - free admission to the picnic grove and free parking. Then we could go kick the ball later on.
Re: Official :: Sons of Ben Membership Fee? Sounds awesome. As for the rest of this stuff. I don't think I have anything to add. The people in charge know what they're doing and I will pay what's asked of me and I think at this point the rest of the true members will do the same.
Re: Official :: Sons of Ben Membership Fee? from http://www.delawarepark.com/press/about.html Of course, we don't HAVE to have alcohol, but I wouldn't mind breaking out the JFA a little early...it'll be ready in about 2.5 weeks. I think we'd be fine somewhere in Fairmount Park, I'm told they don't bust balls for booze, plus it'd be centrally located for most everyone. Or just do a Phillies tailgate and get there early. There's a home game June 2. [/FONT]
Re: Official :: Sons of Ben Membership Fee? It takes 25 to get group ticketing, which is only a $2 discount. We could charge the full price and pocket the $2 if we get enough. That'd be $50+. Having a bunch of people available on a Saturday in June may be tough, though.
Re: Official :: Sons of Ben Membership Fee? think someone mentioned it in the membership fees board but i think Fairmount park would be great for just a BBQ... i know a spot right by me on Poplar St. by boat house row, pretty sure there are grills
Doing it in the park would allow us to be a bit more cost-effective...harder to charge like $8-$10 a person for a BBQ when someone's also shelling out $20 for a game ticket and $10 to park.
Me too. I'll bet we could get another group of 30 people to hit this up... Count me and my girlfriend in for sure, with another 4 "maybes" from my friends. This time, I'll make it for sure... I promise.
